Possible NTTA Class Action Lawsuit

There is a creator on TikTok (@CJsTravels) currently gathering stories regarding ongoing issues with the NTTA. He is collecting information to put together a class action lawsuit. If you've dealt with this, you can find the link to the form in his TikTok bio or use the Google Form link below. Please check out his videos and share this with anyone else who has been affected or any other local communities!

He is looking for people who have dealt with:

• Unsent bills or bills sent to the wrong addresses.

• Being billed by mail despite having a TollTag.

• Lack of customer support or acknowledgement of these errors.

• Extremely high late fees resulting from the issues above.

I’m about to sign up.

I have an active tolltag. When I use up my $30 of the $40 I get auto drafted from my account. Starting last fall I started to also receive bills in the mail for the same tolls I’ve been paying. After numerous calls they are claiming they are missed tolls I wasn’t billed for and I need to pay. I’ve showed them that the timestamps are the same and they shouldn’t be mailing me a bill.

After another month or two they cancelled my tolltag acct for non payment and have proceeded to bill me late fees on top of fees for non payment.

I just received final notice they put a hold on my texas registration until i pay them the fees.

I havnt driven on the tolls now since January. I hate the NTTA

I would add the fake NTTA texts that have scammed so many people in the last 2 years to this list. And to the people saying this isn’t their fault, stop batting for the NTTA they absolutely make life here in Dfw worse. We could have had more public transportation projects invested in here if not for NTTA begging for “one more lane plz” I also have a huge problem with the idea that our children will have to pay for these roads when they become drivers. That will be almost 3 generations of Texas paying for these roads.

Yeah. The big thing imho isn’t the payout. It’s the fact NTTA would be forced to pay which serves as a form of punishment and dissuades them from the same bullshit going forward.

Right? $8.19 for a lifetime of bullshit, seems totally reasonable. Look, I am sick of their shit like everyone else, I play their games because its a necessary evil. Will a class action lawsuit do much to change their business operations? Probably not. If we, as citizens in Texas, want real change from the NTTA then we have to vote out the red, and vote in the blue. We need government representatives who are not interested in financial gains, gains from selling our public services to the highest bidder, disregarding any fallout affecting the public who use it. Its highly doubtful that'll happen, so this is all moot point.

i used to work for the City of dallas courts, and so many people would call in trying to get help with NTTA things, The numbers they gave us to give out or transfer, would always be disconnected. Sometimes a fiew of us would go and research for a working CS number, and when we would find one, it would be unreachable a couple of days or weeks later.
