I just recently purchased a combo kit from Newegg and it came with a Motherboard that I can't really understand why it's any good.

This Motherboard came with a combo kit that I just picked up from Newegg. It came with this case and an Intel 7 270k plus chip and 64gb of corsair RAM. The motherboard has almost all USB C slots for connections and no USB A don't know why thats a good thing considering almost nothing (hardly any mouse and keyboards) use a type C connection. Sure I can just use adapters, and I am sure thats fine, but it's just one more thing to connect to, and take up space, and slow things down.
I am considering swapping out the Motherboard for a this MSI board with rear connectors to give me a nicer look and easier cable management, not to mention better connections for peripherals.
If you don't want to look at the links here is the build I currently have
CORSAIR FRAME 4500X RS-R ARGB Panoramic Glass Mid-Tower PC Case
Z890 Taichi AQUA LGA 1851 Intel Z890 SATA 6G/s EATX Motherboard
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6400 (PC5 51200) Desktop Memory
Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus Processor 24 cores (8 P-cores + 16 E-cores) up to 5.5 GHz
ZOTAC SOLID OC White Edition GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 x16 ATX Graphics Card
ASRock AIO PRO White 360 ARGB 27mm radiator, ARGB waterblock, ARGB Hub-lighting fan, white version
And here is the Motherboard I am considering swapping too.
MSI PRO Z890-S WIFI PZ LGA 1851 Intel Z890
I will also be swapping out the AIO cooler for a matching Corsair cooler just for aesthetics
Any feedback would be appreciated because I guess I just dont understand why the ASRock MOBO is $425 and what seems to be a better MOBO for my case is only $250

a lot of things are switching to usb-c, but to the point: your case has two usb-a ports. if you need more buy a usb hub to plug into the third case port (usb-c).

An internal pcie USB 3.1 card would be another option if a hub is inconvenient.

The ASRock board has a built in waterblock, dual 10G/5G ethernet, a 7 segment POST code readout, two PCI-E 5.0 slots for GPUs or other PCI-E 5.0 devices, and six (6) M.2 slots. It's just a more premium board.
The fact that you don't need any of those features means you can and should go for a cheaper one, of which you've chosen well.

Thanks that explains a lot. It is overkill to be honest.

The Asrock board is a watercooling + overclocking focused board, and also comes with a 10Gb and 5Gb ethernet ports. The MSI is a much simpler board with just a single 2.5Gb port.
If you are just gaming, the MSI is fine. I would say it is overpriced at near 250, you can get a equivalent or better board like the Gigabyte Aorus Elite for 200.

One thing on the Aorus Elite, stick to the F18 BIOS if running Linux.

+1 for Aorus Elite. I prefer the Tomahawk for slightly better I/O and 5 Gbps LAN but that's a great price for Aorus.

I would think that just getting some USB c to USB c cables for your mouse and keyboard, etc.... would be way easier and cheaper than swapping boards.
gibbarish@reddit
It has 8 regular usb ports that aren't type c.. only 2 type c connectors. Looks perfectly fine to me
gibbarish@reddit
Look at the rear io section on the newegg listing. Says 4x 3.2 usb and 4x 3.1 usb and 2x type c
