Let’s go somewhere memorable to come into the next decade!
Outrageous-526@reddit
Still need to figure out where I’ll be turning 50
Kukukachoooo26@reddit
Hopefully in my new home, in a different state, starting a new chapter of my life!
schmearcampain@reddit
Hopefully Costa Rica.
Few-Pineapple-5632@reddit
On my porch.
ScapeyourownGoat@reddit
And then in bed by 9 if all goes to plan.
Up_and_down_and_all@reddit
My closest friends and I all turn 60 in the same year (birthdays start in Jan and finish in June). We are looking at travelling to Ireland to celebrate as one of my friends birthday is on 17 March.
We will be travelling from Australia.
Suspicious-Yogurt480@reddit
Going to be out in Utah hiking. The real celebration comes over Thanksgiving when I’m planning to visit Lisbon and Cadiz. I HATE being home on my birthday or over Thanksgiving break, and it’s often cheaper to travel internationally at that time of year, so I’ve only been home for Thanksgiving ONCE in the last 10 years, and that was because of the Dread Covid.
Silkyiniquity@reddit
I turned 60 this past Saturday. We went to a really great art festival in my town, had lunch at home went to dinner at an amazing sushi place and then went to an 80s rock party hosted by a local social group.I picked all of the activities, so the day was all about me (and I never make a big deal about my birthday. This was an exception)
SigmaSeal66@reddit
On the beach in the Caribbean. Coming up this summer, and I just booked my trip two days ago.
greenmountaintop@reddit
Wisconsin hopefully!
YourGuyK@reddit
That's 13 years away for me, and I'm sure my wife is already planning a trip somewhere.
AlarmingMonk1619@reddit (OP)
You’re only 47?! You’re not GenX. Gtfo!!! 🤣lol
YourGuyK@reddit
Born in '79, sir or ma'am. I'm actually 46.
threelittlebards@reddit
In bed most likely.

NOGOODGASHOLE@reddit
Most of the guys I work with say the same. If your gonna die before retiring, die at work.
MaherMcCheese@reddit
Die with your boots on.
fwambo42@reddit
it's more about getting any potential life insurance from the company you work at
9inez@reddit
Done. Wife and I hung out in a cabin in the TX Hill Country. Campfires, hikes, bat cave, wine and whiskey tasting, a few historic sites. Chill fun.
Did a similar thing for her 60th recently with a coupla extra friends.
CrazyCatLadyNL@reddit
I turned 60 at the end of February, husband one month before that. He hates the age and didn’t want a party.
I organised a small get together with friends at our home a few days after my birthday for the both of us. We both hate big parties.
wanderingdev@reddit
I do a big trip for birthdays ending in 0 and 5. 45 was trekking with gorillas in Uganda, 50 was renting a house in Croatia for a week with a dozen or my friends, 55 I'm thinking will be a month in wine country in south Africa. I haven't decided on 60 yet but I'm leaning towards a stay at one of those northern lights igloo places. Or maybe a river cruise in Asia.
AccomplishedOnion405@reddit
This is me and my 2 besties from high school. Since we turned 30 we go somewhere for big birthdays. We just turned 50 and spent 3 weeks in Tahiti and bora bora. It was heaven!
wanderingdev@reddit
Nice. That sounds great.
Hifi-Cat@reddit
Sitting right where I'm sitting right now having coffee on a couch.
denmama24@reddit
Great question! I turn 60 next February so I need to start thinking about it. Excited to read all the comments.
ONROSREPUS@reddit
Same place I turned 50. Hopefully in my deer stand looking for bambi's poppa. Piece and silence in the woods.
themiracy@reddit
It's quite a way off. I wanted to be in Italy for my 50th but it didn't work out. I'm not doing anything special on my birthday later this week, but we are going to a tasting menu we really like, out of town, the next night. I'm not sure what I'll do at 55 or 60 but I'd like to not lose out on the international travel for those next milestone birthdays like I did last year.
DisastrousEngineer63@reddit
My birthday is Thursday and I'm working. It's overtime so... 🤷♂️
themiracy@reddit
LOL we’re April 30 twins!!
DisastrousEngineer63@reddit
Apologies, I forgot to add the word "next" in there. I'm May 7th. But happy birthday!!
LAKingSteve@reddit
8 months away. My wife better get started on planning something. But most likely at a local so cal tiki bar with a small number of friends and family.

I’m almost 50, but I hope in 10 years I’ll be happily retired in Italy near husband’s family.

All over. In fact it all feels 60 already.
lilred7879@reddit
I will be 60 in 3 days and on the Zambezi Queen Riverboat for a few days in the middle of a 17 day South Africa overview trip.
Gold-Band3830@reddit
At an outdoor Paul Simon concert in June. Should be a great night!
CoolJeweledMoon@reddit
I saw him last year, & it was a reverent experience!
Happy Early Birthday, & enjoy the show!
Gold-Band3830@reddit
Thanks, internet friend! I didn't think I'd look forward to turning 60, but here we are!
leaky_eddie@reddit
I turn 60 next month. The wife and I are flying to Portland OR and renting a Sprinter. 1 week down the coast to N Cal and the redwoods and 1 week back up through the cascades. We have whale watching at Depot Bay booked, some hikes planned, hot springs and fly fishing on the McKenzie river. I am stoked!!!
CoolJeweledMoon@reddit
I did a similar trip a few years ago, & it was freaking awesome! I fell in love with the PNW!!
Happy Early Birthday, & safe travels!
M1rza5@reddit
In 5 years and 28 minutes from now.
Gold-Pilot-8676@reddit
I gotta wait 12 years LOL
KC5SDY@reddit
6 more years to go. I have no idea where I will be, if I make it.
jen_esse@reddit
5 years after I retire. Hopefully on a beach in a foreign country.
minicpst@reddit
I’m still planning 50. Haven’t even thought of 60 yet. I’m one of the babies of this sub.
But for my 40th I took a big bucket list trip. My 50th will be doing the same thing. So probably something similar for my 60th. Maybe I’ll spend a decade saving and do something in first class.
mattazmomma@reddit
What are you thinking for the 50s trip? My heart is leading me to Iceland.
minicpst@reddit
Africa.
UselessPustule@reddit
I’m going to Italy a few months after my 50th. Where are you thinking?
minicpst@reddit

I've got a couple concerts I'll be going to with my wife that week, but the timing's coincidental. Day of will, I'm sure, be spent at home with her and the dogs because the last thing I want to do on MY day is deal with people.
NateNMaxsRobot@reddit
This sounds like perfection.
JuliusSeizuresalad@reddit
All over my body I assume. I think it all goes at once
rem1473@reddit
My body might turn 60 eventually, but my mind is well behind.
Onerustyrn@reddit
Where I’m living in the PNW this past January.
CParksAct@reddit
This might sound a bit morbid, but I’ll turn 60 on November 27 2038 so my parents will probably be dead (I’m a late in life, “let’s get drunk and see where this night takes us,” oops baby) so I got used to the fact that my parents might not make it to some of my later in life milestones like they did for my older sisters. I’m happy to say that they made it to the ones that were most important to me (high school graduation, college graduation, my wedding because I’m an absolute Daddy’s girl and I needed him to walk me down the aisle.). On that date, my husband will be 72 so a lot of plans are going to depend on his health (which isn’t great) and mobility. Ideally, I would love to be on a long cruise (watching the Aurora Borealis (if it’s in season).
Taylortrips@reddit
Taking the kids to Hawaii.
jtrades69@reddit
upcoming divorce and probably leaving this plane of existence before 60!! so, nowhere?
Illustrious-Egg-5839@reddit
I don’t care. I want a Delmonico on the grill and a cold beer. That’s it.
TXtogo@reddit
NYC. We takin a trip.
wwhijr@reddit
I'm going to do the same thing that I have done almost every year since my wife and I have been married. Either she and the kids leave and I have the house to myself. Or I will go watch a movie if there's a good one playing in the theater, find somewhere to have a quiet meal with just me. And then go home. It's my birthday I should get to do whatever I want.
jimonlimon@reddit
At home last year. Nobody other than my “Facebook friends “ even acknowledged that it was my birthday let alone 60th.
lovemesomezombie@reddit
Chuck E Cheese
AnastasiaNo70@reddit
Yikes.
I haven’t done 60s therapy yet. Not ready for this.
But I hope on my 60th I’ll be high and happy and surrounded by those I love. That’s all.
don_teegee@reddit
My wife is planning something for mine this year. I’ll let you know once I start to pick up on the hints.

Going to the south of France next year though.

Why are you all so old in here? I thought this was GenX. I’m barely 50. 60 is like a million years away.
TheJokersChild@reddit
I'm thinking the "where" in that question will be in parentheses for me.
mkstot@reddit
Hopefully parked in my kayak fishing my local lake.
NewHandle3922@reddit
Hopefully in this body, but you never know. I would hate to think of having to wait until my next life to turn 60. But what if my next body isn’t made to last 60 years, or the next one? This could turn into a real shit-show
dafuqizzis@reddit
If I’m still around in 3 1/2 years, I’ll probably be on my couch watching some bullshit show, several seasons behind, wondering why my dog won’t leave me alone after we’ve walked twice and he’s already been fed. Y’know, like almost every other day.
MyLeftT1t@reddit
If I had my druthers I’d spend it on a fishing/genealogy trip to Canada.
More_Law6245@reddit
wow, interesting thought, I could be any where from being in a box to walking down main street eating oranges. I've got options!

Ten years from now- I hope to be enjoying the Amalfi coast in Italy and the isle of Capri as an extravagant birthday trip to myself. I’m going to Kauai for a week in August for my 50th birthday by myself.
Quix66@reddit
I was hoping to be on a cross country train trip out West two weeks from now but that’s been put off until this October.
I’ll be home doing I’m not sure what. Probably having a meal with mom and aunts.
I’d also been planning to trek to Mt. Everest within my 60th birthday year but that’s been put off until October 2027. Maybe it’ll still a celebration of my 60th although I’ll technically be 61 then.

2 years . Its over a major USA holiday so we usually go somewhere on my husband's birthday. Same month. There will be a big change in our lives next year, so I cant plan that far ahead. I just planned this year's vacation; keeping tourist of the UP of Michigan.

Four years to go, but if I don’t visit sooner maybe Singapore/Malaysia, or Australia/New Zealand.
Displaced_in_Space@reddit
Well, I actually went about 6 months after (last year) but it took a lot to plan.
My wife said "for your 60th, I'll take you wherever you want to go...with your money." I thought long and hard about all the world capitals, etc.
Then I had it. An exotic dream literally since I was about 8 years old: And overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. Yea...8 nights jumping off the back of this thing right into the water: https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bobwi-the-westin-bora-bora-resort-and-spa/overview/
I was amazing...and I've traveled a fair bit.

Hm. Two years from now? I guess I’d make a plan for a long-term stay somewhere in Scotland, maybe. 2-3 months. Settle in for a while and get to know the place.
Or maybe I’d shoot for Vancouver Island. Tofino, maybe. Then we could bring the dog, too.
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
60? Damn, let me get to 50 first!
