Advice in moving to Hungary for Chinese citizens?

Hi everyone! I’d like to ask for some help and advice. My boyfriend is a Chinese citizen and currently a university student in Italy, so he has an EU residence permit. In about a year, he would like to move to Hungary, but we’re not sure what kind of visa he should apply for. We’re not married yet, so a “family visit” visa wouldn’t really apply, and it’s also quite short-term. He would like to look for a job here, but most employers don’t offer visa sponsorship for entry-level positions.
Does anyone have any experience with this or any advice?

If visa by employment is not possible, you only have two more options, 1) marriage (he will be relying on you for status for a long time, bad for his mental health, but one advantage is that at least for that period he will think twice before deciding to cheat), 2) investment (Hungary introduced a golden visa several years ago, before the new government attempts to do anything, apply asap. Of course your boyfriend's family needs to support him financially.)
(There is a third route, fake refugee, but not really work in Europe for Chinese applicants; that's the popular choice for Chinese smuggled to the US. There is an industry for forging materials and interview training.)
