Does this thing look like a good cannibalize unit? I am thinking of using this fairly cheap 100% dead Langchao (浪潮) XT clone to heal up my other XT clones.

Any thoughts on this? (Also the amount of nicotine on this thing is insane.) I’ll be keeping everything btw, nothing will be wasted. This is actually one of the Chinese rarer XT clones that I mentioned in a new post about these thing. Too bad I’ll have to gut this guy.

What kind of parts are inside those Chinese XT's? I'd guess a NEC V20? And in terms of floppy and disks, are they using genuine Teac or Shugart/Seagate drives?
If they are just using the XT reference manual to make the system board it should be 100% identical to the original 5160, so perfectly usable to pull any parts from you need.

I'd fix the Chinese clone too. What parts are broken on yours?

Yeah, that is my problem. I buy a retro system to gut and use the parts of, and end up with just an extra retro system!

I doubt most people have ever heard of some random Chinese clone PC. So only you can find out if its worth cannibalizing
Also kind of depends on what parts you need
