Show me you’re Gen X without telling me your Gen X

I am sure that this is the topic of many posts but I was driving in my car, turned on the radio and thought “hmmm I am repping my generation through the stations I have on the first screen”. Like the mechanical saved stations on the old AM/FM car radios lol.
Anyone have any other recent pics that show you are Gen X?

No Pearl Jam radio???
Dillenger69@reddit
I haven't listened to anything but Spotify in my car since 2019. Mind you, I have worked from home since 2020, so I barely drive at all. My music is mostly electronic industrial. Occasionally I'll do some Men Without Hats, or RUSH, but not often.

Anyone like yacht rock radio channel 15 ? For some reason that shit hits just right for a few hours a day.
Independent_Wrap_321@reddit
Love me some Yacht Rock. My daughter cracks up when I do the Thurston Howell announcer voice lol
Captn76@reddit
Ozzy’s Boneyard and Hair Nation are my favorites

Gnarledhalo@reddit
You guys still listen to the radio?
alfundo@reddit
Right? I’m here with 18000 mp3s on my iPhone thinking are there really that many GenX paying for radio!
Bot_No_5@reddit
Mine are on a flash drive. CD rips, a few Napsters, some saved from online. Zero Apple Music; the only purchases are the CDs.
7eregrine@reddit
Show me you're stuck in the past without telling me. 😃
ONROSREPUS@reddit
Two things. I don't own a car new enough to have this and I aint paying for that! If I want to listen to 70-90 rocks just turn on one of the 10-15 local channels on FM that play it. It is either that or country in my place on this earth.
Bot_No_5@reddit
I listen on the 2 or 3 holidays per year it's free. I hop around a lot because I am not the audience for unknown album tracks.

Classic Rewind > '80s on 8
Obwyn@reddit
Does anyone besides GenX still subscribe to XM? I haven't had an XM subscription in over 10 years. I usually listen to Pandora and well, my station selection on there trends heavily towards classic rock, 80's, and 90's stations....along with what started out as a sea shanty station and has morphed into a weird eclectic mixture of folk music, sea shanties, Irish/Scottish traditional (performed mostly by modern groups), and Scandinavian rock styles that has grown on me.
7eregrine@reddit
My boomer receptionist and her husband.
ZweitenMal@reddit
My boomer parents do because there are no more oldies stations. The ones that remain play things from the 80s. They want to hear 50s and 60s music just like I only want postpunk and alternative from the late 70s and 80s.
Standard-Cockroach64@reddit
We still do since we often have to drive thru areas without radio and cell service.
radioactivecat@reddit
I’m genX and I always refused to use Sirius.
TinyFugue@reddit
Hrmmm
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
Hmmm?

AM Sports Talk and NPR
memymomeddit@reddit
Lucy, Fred, Fungus, Liquid Metal, and the decades channels
Yes, I know the merger was almost 20 years ago now. Yes, I'm still salty about it being a move to Sirius's dogshit programming and losing those awesome stations.
MarkItZeroDonnie@reddit
I have lithium , 80s and classic vinyl but my other 3 are classic rewind , alt Nation and Metallica
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
Those are on page 2 lol
afschmidt@reddit
You forgot First WAVE (CH 33)
yanknga@reddit
It’s #1
afschmidt@reddit
Sorry, cognitive decline...
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
No worries it happens to all of us!
Educational_Bid_5315@reddit
You’re using XM radio, that says it all
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
lol truth!
bourginsrevenge@reddit
Download Radio Unbound. Its First Wave, Lithium, and Alt National rolled into one. Oh, and it’s also free.
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the tip. I will check it out!
SpecificStatic@reddit
Your Preset 3 should be Classic Rewind, then it would be identical to mine.
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
So it shall be!
random14330@reddit
Same
Th3R00ST3R@reddit
You forgot Hair Nation
iamcomotose@reddit (OP)
It is on the 2nd page lol.
polyblackcat@reddit
I listen to Boneyard, the Metallica station, Turbo and Octane
drhman1971@reddit
Pretty similar to my list but I have Classic Rewind, 70's on 7, 90's on 9 as well.
MaximumJones@reddit
I still only listen to NPR on the radio.
Exotic_Criticism4645@reddit
I listen to FM radio, zoomer.
NachoPartyGuy@reddit
Left of Center. Sirius 26. That was my fave
ZweitenMal@reddit
RIP Fred. First wave is crap.
Outrageous_Drag6613@reddit
Rock on
MarcusAurelius68@reddit
Classic Rewind, and Hair Nation are 2 I listen to.
Used to listen to Howard 100 but he’s a fraction of what he was back when he first signed with Sirius.
Shoehorse13@reddit
I have four of the six on the main screen, but swap out classic vinyl for underground garage and the 80s station for outlaw country
wolf19d@reddit
Classic Rewind FTW!
We travel to remote places, so SiriusXM wins.
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
Missing LL Cool J's "Rock The Bells Radio"
DunkinEgg@reddit
Those are all presets in my car.

Head_Effect3728@reddit
Don't subscribe anymore because I refused to call in every 6 months to get a some new retention offer. When I did, I liked First Wave and the Spectrum. I had to give up on Lithium because it was just Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Green Day over and over. There was not a really good 90's alternative station.
slasherbobasher@reddit
First menu on my car is in chronological order, more or less: Yacht Rock, 80’s on 8, First Wave, 90’s on 9, Lithium, Alt Nation. :)
redrumham707@reddit
My first preset is XMU so I can stay on top of the new stuff coming out. It reminds me of the cool stations from back in the late 80s in the Massachusetts area, WBRU, WFNX, WBCN etc. Next is of course First Wave, which plays most of the songs I heard on all those cool radio stations in the 80s.
Something about hearing and enjoying new music before it becomes mainstream feels very gen X to me.
alanbowman@reddit
I'm the same. SiriusXMU first, then Lithium, then 1st Wave.
To be honest, my radio almost never moves off those channels. Although if Indie 1.0 was available on the car receiver I'd probably stay there quite a bit too.
Flababulous@reddit
Hey, I've become cultured...adding in Chs 15 Yacht Rock and 51 Groove in the mix...
raf_boy@reddit
Are you sirius?
AEW_SuperFan@reddit
Just subscribing to XM is Gen X. All of the stations are very Gen X focused. They know their audience.
