It's a lot of the same thought processes that are a bit hard to explain without citing explicit examples, which I don't have at the top of my head due to not having watched the Chris Chan documentary for a while. It's also tough using CWC examples because it's not just autism in CWC's case but also a heavy dose of narcissism (+other things).

I'd say that a lot of it is learned helplessness and negationist negotiation. You see this with CWC always insisting he's smart and that things would've gone his way on XYZ thing if not for factors A, B and C that were totally out of his control rather than his approach being at fundamentally fault as a defence mechanism to shield him from criticism. I used to do that a lot as an excuse to not improve.

Another thing is trying to apply a simplistic worldview to human relationships. A lot of it is due to how we (humans as social creatures) raise kids. We give kids simple moralistic lessons, but the problem is that the meaning behind those lessons aren't always what they seem.

E.g. we always tell little boys to be nice and quiet and they'd get the girl/be successful in life when in reality we tell them to be nice and quiet because that's convenient to us as adults. Autistic people are especially bad at recognising this and other unspoken nuances because even if we go through many of the key developmental milestones as neurotypical people, our brains make it hard to register the 'correct' answers due to a preference for 'known' things leading to a predisposition to continue doing things the way you've always done them.

This is why you see CWC when he was trying to be normal being fundamentally childish with his approach at 'courting' girls. Autistic people are wildly overrepresented in the Incel community for this specific reason. A lot of these guys are genuinely just wired different where how society teaches neurotypical kids how relationships work doesn't work for them, and then they end up frustrated and suicidal and sad.

Overall, I think I would've been a lot less socialised and a lot more bitter and inward looking if I didn't radically force a course-change to my life in the last years of my university. My background definitely pushed me towards more negative outcomes than not in that regard (not socialised at all, lack of exposure to both new experiences and women because I was shut into an all boys school with a hyper fixation on academics, etc).

It's exhausting because it takes a lot out of me just to maintain that sense of 'neurotypicalness' where I'm constantly socialising, etc, but I know damn well from CWC the alternative could be much much worse.
