My cats love my guns. If I leave my riflebag open, invariably there will be a cat. Stripping and cleaning? Cat wants to sniff the parts. Anything to do with a laser? You already know.
So that's what these signs mean. Check the safe to make sure the cat is in it, before you close it, so it won't bother you while you're working on the guns.
My cat disappeared for three days once. Then I remembered that I had to get into my enclosed box trailer three days ago. The cat was inside the trailer. Luckily she was fine.
I have sued and been sued. Often civil court is necessary to resolve very real issues. Like the time a family member sued to divide a family property in a way that devoured them and lost. Or the time my kid was hit by a driver who lied to police about the circumstances.
Like... no fucking shit? It's GUNPOWDER. Of course it's flammable and explosive. But I'm willing to bet there is a lawsuit somewhere, from someone suing a gunpowder company for not telling them gunpowder is flammable/explosive.
Ok, but that one wasn't a dumb lawsuit. McDonalds was serving their coffee at unsafe levels of hot. Hot enough to give someone third degree burns in 5 seconds. And they had settled numerous injury lawsuits so they KNEW it was unsafe.
Originally she just wanted her medical costs covered. I believe she tried to settle numerous times but McDonald's refused. Until they made a last ditch attempt but by then it was clear she was winning to she told McD's to shove it.
A guy I served with in the Marines told me that their cat ran out of the house and disappeared when the movers were packing their house up for a move from NC to CA.
Until they were unpacking in CA and noticed an awful smell. The cat loved to jump into open drawers and apparently got closed up in a dresser that was wrapped up and loaded into the moving truck.
Cat goes in, you don't notice and close the safe. Some safes are incredibly sound proof, so you may not hear them instantly. Hours later, you start looking for the cat, before finally checking the gun safe. Or you hear the faint cries for help, but can't quite pinpoint the location, until....
That's pretty funny because I had a magnet made that says something very similar. because my goofy little orange every time she hears the beep beep beep beep she just comes running and knows that as soon as I open it she's going to shoot in there
Locked a cat in onece. I very I time to them and when ones goes missing. It was a nice 3 or 4 hour nap. They were very annoyed by the light when I opened the door.Ā
THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME
my poor girl spent like 5 hours in there and then emerged absolutely fine and frankly annoyed I had interrupted her nap. I was scared as hell and she was totally fine
i got 5 fuckin kittens, 3 go in the gun safe and of course one of them is the black one so she hides by my MP5 lol the others are dark so they try to blend in, luckily the momma cat is white so she sticks out
There were a series of posts not too long ago where multiple people were needing to ask about how to recover firearms that has been covered in cat piss for a long time. Turns out this is a common problem and cats yearn for small arms. Apparently they make good toilets.

I'm not saying every lawsuit is dumb. I am saying the reason for a lot of the "Well duh?" signs is BECAUSE of a lawsuit.
