RDS recommendations for the new Rhino in .44 Mag

So I have one of these on the way and I want to get a red dot for it. It's rather large so I'd like something with a larger window. I am open to going the pistol RDS route with an adaptor plate if necessary, but I'm curious if there's a pic-rail mounted sight that wouldn't look ridiculous.
Ideally it fits the aesthetic to a certain degree. Aimpoit COA or something similar perhaps?
Any and all suggestions welcome because I'm a bit paralyzed by choice and I don't have an extensive knowledge of RDS.

This really needs a bayonet...
firearmresearch00@reddit
A trijicon MGRS sounds like it would fit the bill
bdash1990@reddit (OP)
Well that definitely takes the lead for window size. Jfc.
JimMarch@reddit
HOLUP! I just noticed something incredibly stupid on that thing.
Lol.
Look at the triggerguard. The front face. It's set up to allow your offhand forefinger to rest on it.
Now line that up with the cylinder gap.
And this is a 44mag.
You have GOT to be kidding me.
What dumbass thought this up?
DocDerry@reddit
Is that really what it's for? My offhand covers my shooting hand. None of my offhand fingers are out past the trigger finger. Depending on the grip size/length my offhand would go under and cup my primary or around my primary.
firearmresearch00@reddit
It's more common with an older style of shooting, I wanna say in the 90s with tacticool guys. Most of the time I use a grip that's more conventional to the modern day but a couple pistols like my p09, I wrap the support index finger around it with a higher grip almost like an afg and it helps to drive the muzzle downwards. It also goes great with a gas pedal that's relatively forward. Terrible idea on a revolver tho

RIP fingey
JimMarch@reddit
Yup.
I'm already down to 9. Hell, I have to unzip to count to 10.

you...could have used your toes...
firearmresearch00@reddit
That gets dangerous around these parts

Like taking off your shoes and socks is quicker than whipping your dick out. SMH

Just remember it’s a low bore axis so the frame will deflect the gasses sideways, kinda like how a normal 44 you can mount a scope and only have to worry about the recoil destroying the internals not the combustion gasses destroying the whole thing
JimMarch@reddit
Oh hell no. Some of that blast is going to divert itself around the edge and nail your finger. Might not be quite as bad as a direct blast but you're going to get your finger fried.
bdash1990@reddit (OP)
I'll report back after I have my wife's BF fire it with a finger around the front strap of the trigger guard.
Brian-88@reddit
As someone that used to own one of these, the gasses do not deflect away from the fingies
Bloodysamflint@reddit
It has the word "Chiappa" on it. Dumbassery is assumed.
cowboy3gunisfun@reddit
Jerry Miculek did a review on these and got his finger burned. That review changed my mind about buying one.
Glucose12@reddit
They probably assume you're going to put a vertical foregrip on that picatinny rail.
Full support of the firearm, and the left arm mechanics should keep it well away from those hot gases.

I noticed that too. I like the look, but it's absolutely poor design.

Lawsuit waiting to happen is what it is.
OffensiveFTW@reddit
Where did you find one I’ve been looking everywhere??
bdash1990@reddit (OP)
Me too lol. I created a new Gmail account for it. I signed up for every in stock notification I could find, and made accounts on every dealers website that had a wishlist.
I've found new shipments come in bulk. one just dropped on Monday. I might have one or two links that are still in stock.

Why are people recommending pistol optics? It has a rail! Eotech EXP3, aimpoint pro, the opportunities are endless
bdash1990@reddit (OP)
I do have an ACOG I could put up there...
THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR@reddit
….. well probably not an ACOG since the eye relief is gosh darn atrocious (honestly who the heck uses them??) and that’s a reciprocating slide so it might blind us.
bdash1990@reddit (OP)
It's a revolver, sir.
THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR@reddit
Holy moly I need to go to sleep, for some reason I remembered it being a Desert Eagle? Haha
SOSB-Haru@reddit
Cyelee Bull and call it a day
THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR@reddit
On a 44 mag? Would it last a day?
bdash1990@reddit (OP)
What's their warrantly like? lol
daghouse3@reddit
Bruh, put a holosun 510 on it, it's already heavy as hell and you can get a bigger window.
MEMExplorer@reddit
Holy holdover height 😬😬😬

Aimpoint pro
Ellijah92@reddit
I’ve wanted to like this series of revolver for so long but the vented top rib looks dumb compared to a slab sided barrel. Also idk why but the grip just looks too small and the wrong shape for that revolver.
JimMarch@reddit
I know it looks funky but they're trying to get your grip up behind the firing cylinder bore for a straight back push. It absolutely works.
Ellijah92@reddit
I don’t doubt it’s functional ability I just think aesthetically it looks off.

When Rube Goldberg was asked to design a pistol
JimMarch@reddit
I'd seriously consider a long eye relief 2x fixed pistol scope - combined with a freaking HUGE underbarrel light (rifle class) if you have to fight with it at closer range.
Black sights over a lit up background work better than a red dot.
ASnakeNamedNate@reddit
TLR9 would probably look good.
TacTurtle@reddit
Holosun 507Comp or Triji SRO
facebacon69@reddit
Put mbus set

Holographic sight with magnifier
JimMarch@reddit
Magnifier is short eye relief. LolNOPE.
AYE-BO@reddit
Any optic is short eye relief if youre brave enough.
JimMarch@reddit
No. To shoot any optic off a pistol effectively it needs to be a long eye relief type.
AYE-BO@reddit
Not if youre brave enough to use a short eye relief optic.
imasneakybeaver@reddit
I know it’s operator error but the Rhino is the only revolver that I’ve got bit from then cylinder gap. Just be aware of your offhand placement.
SnooDoodles6060@reddit
anything you want, its a stupid meme gun anyway.
klugh57@reddit
Maybe checkout the new vortex triumph. They're definitely on the lower price side of things, but have shake awake and good battery life. They come with a no rise mount as well

Romeo-X Enclosed Pro sits lower than most pistol red dots. Unless you can get some very low mounted Aimpoint T2.
