I have had to lock this post due to the moderation time required to ban the homophobic assholes appearing.
r/miltonkeynes does not and will never allow hate, as we are an inclusive space open to everyone, as long as they respect others. Homophobia is beyond disrespectful, and will result in bans.

Didn't know they made clubs that identified as LGBT+. Thought it was just a club!

So sad. My daughter, her boyf and their mob of friends are in total mouring. They loved it, went every other week. My daughter is even more gutted, as she finally won free tickets on the photo thingy! I am also very grateful for the safety and care they give to the clubbers. My daughter tripped on the kerb outside one Saturday, a few weeks ago, 4am, fractured her ankle! They were there in seconds picking her up, helping her with a walker, getting her a taxi to A&E, and letting her friends know! Truely outstanding staff. I very much hope Pinks returns ASAPšš

Straight people taking over a gay club.
In total mourning when they have a hundred other places to go
What have they actually done for LGBT rights.
Have they confronted terfs.
Straight people being silent has led to this situation

Arthran@reddit
You know the 3rd letter in LGBT? How do you know that the straight presenting people arent Bisexual? How do you know that some of their group of friends arent either not our yet or are LGBT and find support going on a night out with their straight friends?
Your consistent comments throughout this post are a real highlight of how some members of the community value purity over acceptance. We have fought for decades for tolerance and acceptance, and instead of appreciating the people who are with you mourning the loss of Pinks, you want to police who should and shouldnt be allowed to go there.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
How do you know that they are.
Yes we did and straight people have taken that away but you don't care about that.
You just think that straight people should use our spaces excluding LGBT people from them while not protecting the community.
You want to use the spaces you have the responsibility to protect those spaces but people like you say nothing about terfs.
They said nothing about the homophobic attack on this club just how it impacts their daughter
Arthran@reddit
Seriously, Stop fighting people who are on the same side. Stop assuming everyone is against you.
They posted about their personal experience, commented on how great the staff were, and how much they hope Pinks returns. This is a positive post. They didnt comment on the motive of the arsonist, because nobody knows yet (we can all assume, mostly likely correctly it was a homophobic act, but until the police do their investigation, we don't know for definite).
Straight people at LGBT venue's doesnt take away those venues, in fact having straight people at LGBT venues actively removes a lot of intolerances by helping those straight people meet people they may not normally get the chance to.
Also, again with the purity testing, "You want to use the spaces you have the responsibility to protect those spaces but people like you say nothing about terfs." You don't know me or who I do or don't support.
On a thread about Pinks, there are so many comments about how missed it is, how good it was and how much people look forward to its return. There are a few idiots who need reporting, but then there is you, attacking people who want to show solidarity and support for Pinks. Please, just stop
LilCelebratoryDance@reddit
A hundred other places to go? In MK?
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
It's called hyperbole but you would agree that there's more places for straight people to go than there is LGBT venues
sarsar69@reddit
If they weren't welcomed, they wouldn't go. Where are the 100 other places that aren't full of twats fighting each other.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
So gay people can't have their own spaces because straight people cause trouble?
Especially when you do nothing about terfs etc

Sadly, I went a handful of times maybe 15-20 years ago. As a straight fella, it had a really nice atmos. Everybody was just nice.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Because they have to be nice.
Because straight people put gay people on edge even when in our spaces
Sad-Nectarine-7855@reddit
You wouldn't know they're straight unless they told you
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Most people know that they are straight since they can tell by behaviour.
Do you know how many gay men have been sexually assaulted by women in gay bars but women are silent on that issue?

Not me fam, Iām straight and think gays are wicked. Great sense of fashion, humour and Iāve never been made to feel less by a gay person. Plus they are always the life of parties. Do your thing homies;
All fun aside though; it sucks that you guys are made to feel this way, there is a shift in younger generations being more accepting, the older folks and uneducated are the problem.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
So you are okay with stereotyping gay people.
Hudsxn98@reddit
Iām not stereotyping, Iām explaining the personalities/appearance of friends who are gay⦠Stop with the victim culture;
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
No you are not.
You were trying to say that all gay people are good with fashion etc but thanks for showing your true colours when called out by Gay people
Hudsxn98@reddit
Funnily enough I asked said friends about my comment and if it would be perceived in a negative light; stop trying to stir up division.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Funny how you instantly managed to ask your friends.
Also if they speak for gay people so do I so stop trying to control gay people
Alternative_Look_453@reddit
I'm gay and think you'd have to be a walking eggshell to find this offensive. If we start condoning people who are on our side we'll never get anywhere. It doesn't take a genius to figure out if something is coming from a place of malintent and I'm really tired of the virtue signalling within our communities.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
That's a lie but nice try straight person.
Yes and they are but go ahead and be okay with stereotyping.
Also I noticed how you say nothing about these people not calling out terfs which proves that they don't care about the LGBT community
Alternative_Look_453@reddit
Lol because I'm not terminally on gay Reddit pages I must be straight. Maybe I just have a life outside my phone? šš»
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Who said that you had to be terminally on gay pages?
Obviously not when you are here
sound-fx@reddit
Not me sorry, somebody who's openly accepting.
I respect differences, what people are or want to be presented as, nobody would ever judge me in that atmosphere. I never put anybody on edge, I try to do quite the opposite and make people comfortable in my company, whoever they are and whatever they represent.
I miss the place. I can't go out these days, well, since March 2020 for health reasons. If I could I've had gone PP.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
You don't get to say not you.
I noticed how you are talking as a straight person over gay people
Hudsxn98@reddit
You deleted your comment after somebody replied, then rewrote the exact same comment; stop fishing for karma and making yourself out to be a victim
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Oh yes keep attacking a gay person because they called out your stereotyping to prove that you are not homophobic.
Hudsxn98@reddit
How have I attacked a gay person? I said to stop with the victim culture; you had no need to respond to my comment in a negative light; I was being friendly and polite, and sincere. Youāve managed to take something good and turn it negative
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Oh yes there it is again because I told you to stop stereotyping gay people.
No you weren't being friendly and polite.
You stereotyped all gay people.
You act like being gay suddenly gives good fashion sense.
Stereotyping is never good but yet again straight people love to talk over gay people using imaginary friends
Hudsxn98@reddit
Victim mentality
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Yes you do you are acting like you are a victim because you have been called out

I think everybody was nice because the vibe was great, not because they had to be. It was a alt venue after all, you only visited if you were happy with the scene.

Yeah that's absolutely devastating to see, my heart goes out to everyone affected by that fire. On a totally different note if you're looking for IPTV options to maybe catch some news or support streams, the best thing you can do is compare different providers side by side rather than just picking one at random. I'd recommend checking out **IPTVmap .com** to see what's actually reliable and has the channels you want before committing to anything.
GreenAmigo@reddit
I did go there a few times. Was very unique but i felt safe being their by myself. Just in the middle of nowhere. Multiple dancefloors differnet kinds of music... outaide had open fire pits so could go out in cild and stay warm too if music was not to your liking. I am straight but it was a nice place to go. The night clubs that were in mk were too tacky... this place was class with british flair.
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
So what have you actually done for LGBT rights?
Vuldezad@reddit
"Open pits" looks like the inside has them now as well ahahah
JakeEaton@reddit
The best nightclub I've been to outside of London. It had a similar feel to the clubs you find in Berlin, where there's decent smoking areas, proper security to keep the yobs out and just really happy, nice people looking to have fun.
Hopefully they rebuild it.
No_Present6322@reddit
Poor frank, he built this from the ground up, he was so proud, his home was simply beautiful, and he loved showing it off. Not only did he lose his business but his actual home, I pray he has it in him to build it again, but I fear itāll never be the same, it was disjointed, had amazing character, but most importantly no one was injured. That they must be proud of. This is where I met my husband, our initials inscribed into the concrete floor of the ānewā bit ( outside smoking area). My word changed and this club was part of the journey. My heart feels heavy, I lost nothing in a sense, and it feels wrong to feel that way even what some have lost. It was more than a club, we went away together, prides, and most importantly to me, I met the man of my dreams here. He was always setting up the scenes ( sadly tied to noose that a man very nearly died using ) this was our escape and place of safety for many years. When it comes back, we will come out of parent mode and support harder than ever, so I pray for that day.

Wonder if it's caused by people that dislike the lgbt community and also other minorities that seem to have buildings being targeted and put on fire š¤

darybrain@reddit
This is by no means the first fire they have had. There was a smaller one earlier in March and another bad one in 2023 albeit clearly not as bad as this. There have been others as well but relatively small. I hope they are able to rebuild it better than it was. We have the technology.
That being said, I'm enjoying the conspiracy theory comments of insurance fraud, property developer trying to muscle in which is why the church also caught fire the night before, and others. Folks have been watching too much TV.
Maverick_Aviator1@reddit
Hmm insurance as per usual, itāll come back with a new operating company and lease. Old one went up in⦠flames. Everyone knows this place was corrupt
BandicootTreeline@reddit
It was deliberate arson while open and someone has been arrested for it. Doesnāt exactly fit the usual āsomeone broke in and torched itā youād get with insurance.
Air_Hair_Lair@reddit
The owner says he has plans to bring it back.
This was one of the best clubs in the UK, it feels safe, inclusive and down right fun (Halloween was always a huge blast)... I hope it makes a return.

Why does it matter if its an LGBTQ club? Why couldn't it just say "club".

Because unfortunately there's still a contingent of vile fuckeots who's sole purpose in life is to make everybody who isn't white, straight, non disabled and male suffer for every minute they are alive. Therefore we need spaces that keep those walkers out
Careful-Avocado-3917@reddit
Really saddened by this. Such a unique venue, felt like the middle of nowhere getting a taxi out there but vibes when you arrived were immaculate.
It's a real shame, there really aren't many decent LGBT venues in that part of England to fill the gap. I really hope they do rebuild it and bring it back.

Credit to the firefighters, staff and management who managed to evacuate the club with no injuries. Iām not sure why theyāre not front and centre of this story.

Yeah the owner has talked about how they drilled fire evacuation procedures at length and the staff all executed it perfectly to get everyone out safely. This could have been an even more tragic story if that hadnāt been the case.

I hope it gets rebuilt bigger and better than ever, though I did feel like it was too crowded with straight people on occasion. Felt like being an exhibit in a zoo.
