worth checking the wattage and speed cap before buying for AU road use. moped style dual battery bikes often run outside the 250w 25km/h limit that makes an ebike road legal in AU without registration. the V29 Max runs a 750w motor and tops out around 50km/h which puts it well outside that threshold for public roads and bike paths. fine for private property use but not for public roads. leitner and velectrix are two AU brands where compliance is sorted from the factory if road legal is the goal
Looks like a big maintenance problem. It won’t have standard parts. In two years it will have worn through its moving parts and it will be waste. Nobody is going to be willing to work on it. Anything that has this form factor is suspect.
My advice: go to a bike shop and test ride stuff. You’ll pay a lot more up front but the bike your buy there can last you decades not years.
Well, then what you want is an e-motorcycle or an e-moped because those are not E bikes E bikes are regular bicycles that happen to have electric power on them and generally speaking E motorcycles and e-mopeds are illegal pretty much everywhere outside of private property
That probably stems from some preconceived notions of how a bike responds to the terrain that you expect to ride on. Those big tyres don’t do anything for the ride quality. They’re purely cosmetic so it looks more like a motorcycle. This kind of bike is form over function. It’s a toy.
If you want a tool go for a normal bicycle. There are time tested form factors that will tick all your boxes.
I just got one a couple weeks ago. You can set the max speed the bike goes with pedal assist and adjust how fast you want/need the throttle to go.
Only thing that's an issue is the tubes that come with the tyres, they are very thin and recommend installing thicker puncture proof tubes.
I’d honestly need to do more research on the specific laws in Australia, but in the US the fact that it has more than 1000 W makes it illegal the fact that it can go faster than 28 miles an hour makes it illegal the fact that it does have a throttle present and can go faster than 20 makes it illegal and all of that is on top of the fact that it’s not even advertised as any like it’s obviously and explicitly advertised as a moped that happens to be electric

But I want one in this style with fat tires not one that is a normal bike that just has a e-bike battery on it.

Throttle makes it illegal.
KiwiJay83@reddit
Having a throttle is only illegal if you use it on public roads and go beyond the recommend speed.

That’s not an e bike, that’s a moped that happens to be electric. It literally says so on the product page.

That handlebar situation looks goofy af.
Odd-Lime-2738@reddit
No. Can’t use it on the road and not good enough for paddocks.
maluket@reddit
Yes, it is good but heavy. Plenty of space to add a big battery for long rides.

No, not at all good for Australia.
KiwiJay83@reddit
Junk. There are better quality bikes in Australia.

PlasticIcy2542@reddit
That's illegal, if you are about legality get a 250wnpedal assist that cuts out after 25km. New rules suggest 10km speed limit on footpaths
