People who work in the prison system, do you ever hear smuggled phones going off, like at 3pm?

This sounds like a random question, but I’m curious. Have you actually heard a phone ring or buzz where it clearly shouldn’t?

My ex wife was a prison officer. She told me they have handheld mobile phone detectors and every so often she would walk down the wing at night and find the cells that had them. Then in the morning, they'd search those cells.
