Parking for marathon spectators

My husband is running in the MK marathon on Bank Holiday Monday, and I'm sooooo confused about parking (for me and my children as spectators, his transport is sorted)
From looking at Google maps, there's hundreds of car parks, but some of them seem like private residential parking not actual public ones
I'm thinking it will be a hassle to keep moving the car to see him around the course, so probably just planning to head to somewhere around Woolstone, is there any parking there?
Or is there somewhere better to wait? I have two boys aged 3 and 6 in tow, so need to keep them entertained!
We then need to get from there down to the stadium for the finish, I guess either on public transport, or by car but not sure if there is parking by the stadium as it will be busy
Any tips appreciated!

Where are you intending to watch them? You can drive round multiple places and watch him I'd say, then get to the finish.
Give me a link to the route, can recommend places to park.

Thanks so much
This is the spectators Guide which has a map on page 8

Is that this year's guide? At least 2 of the venues for eating and drinking are now closed so I don't know how up to date that is

Willen lake. - you'll see him 3 times. Mile 7, 16.5, 20.5
Hmm can you get to the stadium in 5 miles though....

Great Willen Lake looks perfect for the kids
I'm wondering if I should just leave the car there and get a taxi to the stadium
My husband has his car booked into the stadium car park, so we could use that to get back to my car later

Thinking more about it.... Driving 20 mins, parking, then walking into stadium.... Getting into stadium for the finish line.... Could be tight after 20.5 miles... What will his pace be at that point? If he's doing 10 mins miles at that point might work.
Might be more sensible to depart Willen after mile 16.5 or so, and take a more relaxed journey to the stadium.

That's not a bad idea. There's no grid road closures over that side of town, so should be no issues picking you up.

The race guide FAQ says if you haven't booked parking, try your luck on an industrial estate. Which i thought was odd, but is that kinda of what people do, park on industrial estates on the weekend?

Not on a normal weekend, just for stadium events. I've done it for the marathon and football events.
