RTX 3070 vs 3070 Ti

The cards in question are:
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Gaming OC 8GB
ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 OC Edition 8GB
Both cost €250. I know the Ti has about 10-15% better performance, but I was wondering if it was worth sacrificing it for the TUF series better build quality, temperatures and less noise.
ChocolateNeat4489@reddit
Ti won't perform 15% better, more like , 5-7%. It's the same GPU, just overclocked. I would rather undervolt 3070 than overclock
Dimo145@reddit
rather get a 5060 instead
ADo_9000@reddit
Why?
Dimo145@reddit
because features wise alone he'd have far better experience and performance over getting a 6 years old card, even if a 3070ti could have a raw performance of 10% or whatever irrelevant number higher.
ADo_9000@reddit
I think other than multi frame gen, the 3070ti has access to DLSS4 as will
So I'm not really sure what you're on about
On the contrary, the 3070ti does actually have full support for physx and not just the flimsy software patch they did for 50 series that only officially supports around 10 games.
Dimo145@reddit
32 bit physx is such a mute point, that It feels stupid to even address it, it's such a small amount of games from so long ago, that if it is your deciding factor whether to get a newer and better hardware over one that's more than half a decade old, then you do you, but it is objectively stupid.
DLSS support, albeit available on lower tier cards, newer ones obviously handle it better due to newer tensor cores, and there's also forward compatability.
We are talking about products that are within 20 euro dollars of each other.
ADo_9000@reddit
Faster for cheaper?
I still know what choice l would make.
Dimo145@reddit
Ignoring the software side of things and how far it has gotten l, which is also the biggest difference in pretty much any debate/comparison nowadays is incredibly disingenuous and you do all the people that might not know better a very bad service.
ADo_9000@reddit
Or maybe I just don't value it as highly?
clone2197@reddit
just get the better card. TUF is Asus budget line anyway, which is not much different compared to the Gigabyte Gaming OC midrange line.
ADo_9000@reddit
No, just get the TI
Nereplan@reddit
I could argue if it was top end ASUS like Strix (because they age better than entry models) but TUF and Gigabyte is not that different. Definitely go with Ti.
Slight_Sleep_978@reddit
purchase rtx4060
ADo_9000@reddit
Why
TBNRhash@reddit
Always go for the higher tier of card, not brand if same price
Shamiilov@reddit
At the same price, I’d go ASUS TUF 3070.
Why:
The 3070 Ti is ~10–15% faster, but it also runs hotter, louder, and uses a lot more power.
Bottom line: 3070 = better overall card 3070 Ti = only if you really want max FPS
Correx96@reddit
no. go with the Ti version
