the rx 9070 xt is a high end card, the 5070 is a mid range card

Alright so im a chimp when it comes to the particulars of this stuff. Why does userbecnhmark essentially place these two cards as identically powerful in that case?

I don't know about technicalcity but userbenchmark is one of the worst places to go for tech. They are so anti-amd that they were even banned from the nvidia subreddit for making them look bad.
For gpu comparissons go to techpowerup for detailed reviews or tom's hardware's gpu chart for an overview of theit relative strengths. In all three major resolutions the 9070xt is slightly worse than a 5070ti and the 9070 is the one that is closer to the 5070.
semidegenerate@reddit
TechPowerUp has shows the 9070XT as 23% faster than the 5070 on their basic comparison chart, and they might not have retested since the driver improvements. I'm guessing it's actually a few points higher than that.

The founder of userbenchmark writes fanboy hate for AMD on its website and had a mental breakdown: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/userbenchmark-bashes-amd-gpus-and-claims-they-lack-real-world-performance
Userbenchmark is so crazy that even the Nvidia and Intel subreddit banned it.
Delphin_1@reddit
Userbenchmark has a hateboner for AMD, so don't take their word on anything relating to AMD. Don't know about technicalcity though.
pickleinthepaint@reddit
Yeah I get that. They do use like specific metrics and tests to compare the two though which im assuming is how they're ultimately generating an overall score. Are the metrics skewed towards things Nvidia chips do better...? Like why are the numbers incorrectly reflecting reality?

I don't know about their metrics, but they just blatantly lied about amd tech for years about stuff that is easy to confirm as false so people don't trust them about anything any more

Those sites use synthetic benchmarks. Userbenchmark in particular cherry picks benchmarks to fit a certain narrative. Look up actual game benchmarks. Toms Hardware, Gamers Nexus or Hardware Unboxed for example.
Mravac_Kid@reddit
Userbenchmark is heavilly biased towards Nvidia. Check youtube for side-by-side comparisons, the 9070XT is about equivalent to the 5070Ti, not the regular 5070.
niallmul97@reddit
If those are the same price then the 9070XT for sure. If the 5070Ti isn't that much more, then maybe go for that, but you can't go wrong with the 9070XT
BlackCrossAce@reddit
5070ti is like 300-400 Dollars more in my area
niallmul97@reddit
Yeah in that case unless you need cuda cores or something then the correct choice is nearly always the 9070XT.
tc05_@reddit
9070XT is just better and has more VRAM for futureproofing, a lot of games are already using more than 12GB at 1440p.
BingGongTing@reddit
5070 Ti or 9070 XT.

rtx 5070 12gb
ImVeryUnimaginative@reddit
Bing's saying that the 5070 Ti is comparable to the 9070 XT, not the 5070.
LogicalPhotograph810@reddit (OP)
my bad
ImVeryUnimaginative@reddit
You're good
Mravac_Kid@reddit
The regular 5070 should be about $100 *cheaper* than the 9070XT, for the same price it's no contest at all, get the 9070XT.
VFC1910@reddit
With AMD you can replace windows with Linux
Temporary-Ad8539@reddit
Get the 9070xt is better thant the 5070.
Correx96@reddit
5070 and 9070XT are on two different tiers. The 9070XT is much better, for the same price go for it
gamblodar@reddit
The 9070XT is a much better card for gaming.
