Why is Automatic transmission looked down as lazy and unreliable then manual is looked as the best?

Like I don’t understand why anyone would hate a transmission that can still get you to point a to b? Doesn’t manual have its down as well like stalling for no reason?

maybe i've only ever driven shitty automatics, but all autos i've driven felt really unresponsive and just spongy for some reason, i like to actually control my acceleration and all of that
