So basically have pulled my coolant expansion tank out to clean it while servicing my car

Someone decided to stand on sensor when I had it out

Now can’t find a sensor anywhere in Australia or anyone wrecking an XH that has an expansion tank with a sensor on it

I tried to bypass it by simply joining the positive and negative wires together but no luck

Now when I turn my car on (with coolant in expansion tank and sensor cap on so it doesn’t leak) it has a fan symbol come up on my dash and my fan won’t engage

Not sure if it’s even related but all I did was an oil change and take the coolant tank out to clean so I’d say it has to be the sensor

Called every wreckers and almost everywhere possible for a genuine or even aftermarket with sensor and had no luck at all there two in Australia with no sensors (several wreckers have told me so I’d assume that’s just what’s in the database)

Wondering what options I have and how I can get it to run again with fan going and if there’s options for a expansion tank with a universal sensor (I believe just a check level sensor) I can wire in using old connection ?

It’s a 1998 XH falcon 4L inline 6 if that helps.
