I really hate to be a it was better back when I... type but man the hamburger and fish patties at McD's have absolutely no taste anymore.
SuperTomServo@reddit
There is a McDLT carton in the Smithsonian. Yum!
hydrawoman@reddit
Had not had McDonalds in years until a few weeks ago. Son visited and we split 4 double cheeseburgers 🍔 and 2 medium fries 🍟 It tasted OK, was $16-ish and gave me horrid gas.

The good old days
realityguy1@reddit
What was good about it? A nostalgic mind is a deceiving mind. Mcdls food tastes as good today and it doesn’t come wrapped in microplastics.
MassCasualty@reddit
Those containers would look the exact same today.... if you left them anywhere on earth ;)
realityguy1@reddit
No they wouldn’t.
lastfreerangekid@reddit
If you think these tasted good, you should try the sandwiches that came in them
baziik66@reddit
Did it ever really "taste" good?
MyldExcitement@reddit
Yes. In the 60s and 70s.
Jpkmets7@reddit
The fries were legit great at one time 30 years ago or so.
Trolkarlen@reddit
That’s about the last time I ate there.
ChatnNaked@reddit (OP)
Compared to today… 1000% difference in taste and quality!
Trolkarlen@reddit
All that styrofoam !
DifficultAnt23@reddit
.... smashed and littering the parking lots
Base_Ancient@reddit
Ahhh..those were the days!
godofwine16@reddit
And when they still used tallow for the fries
Historical_Project86@reddit
It was always LLA though. :-) (Lips, lids, and arseholes).
OkConsideration8964@reddit
Dammit now I want a McChicken

It was so good when I didn’t have high cholesterol, hypertension and diabetes.
Captain_of_Gravyboat@reddit
...and a metabolism. I remember being young and having a bag of McDonald's bursting at the seams for like $3 and not gaining an ounce.
bowlgar@reddit
Trade that bursting McD’s bag to some stoners and you just might gain an ounce.

Impressive-Health670@reddit
No need to celebrate the worst of us, this never tasted good.

All the byproducts and fillers making the taste bland
SuitablyFakeUsername@reddit
Mmmmm microplastics
nikhewitt@reddit
Remember when the restaurants were colourful and had characters all over them, with little tinfoil ashtrays and play slides in the building and stuff? Everything feels so grey now days, like all the chain stores are trying to be serious or are ashamed of being different. 🤷🏻‍♂️
ChatnNaked@reddit (OP)
My local Mc’ds had “saddles” for the kids section in the 70s-80s..
BubbaValentine@reddit
Prices high ,food sucks always some sort of drama if not an all out brawl. How is this still an industry even?
Roland-Of-Eld-19@reddit
I think the last meal i had at McDonald's that actually tasted enjoyable was 25 years ago
Top_Resolve_107@reddit
I miss the old box cookies they used to sell.
SQWRLLY1@reddit
Because it was made of actual food back then... not food-like consumable product.
ChemistVegetable7504@reddit
My cardiologist has mentioned that the styrofoam containers were heather than the burger inside.
apc961@reddit
Probably less chemicals in the containers...
