I thought this said Australian troops, and I wondered why we ever used an MG3 copy, because I knew we used a copy of the Steyr as the Austeyr.

I always thought it funny that both countries hate when people confuse them, but decided to use the same rifle.

Ian recently mentioned that the 30 round magazine on ARs function kinda like a monopod, I wonder how that applies to bullpups and their handling when prone

In my experience, they do work as a rear monopod. A forward monopod is more stable but it still provides another point of contact at the rear to help stabilize your shots a bit.

up until 3 years ago they still looked like that (they are phasing out the uniform, recruits still look like this in some places)

Also known as the Knallpatronengerät.
Next day they probably had fun clearing out all this blue dust that the blanks leave behind, or else the Vize-Leutnant doing rifle inspection will get mad.

"Early 2000's" could've also been 2022 lol
I served in 2018 and had the exact same kit
