Help me decide which GPU is better.

I already have a r5 3600, 16gb ddr4 ram. I have a tight budget of 230 usd
I was looking at rx6700xt for 210$ and rtx3070 for 190$. My main task are 1080p-1440p gaming and after effects i also want it future proof. So which one should I get . The vram is making it confusing. Should get anyone from them or any other gpu (maybe a rx6750xt).

Overall 3070 is better, but you have 16g RAM and with this limitation VRAM is more important. If you planned upgrade ram to 32 than go 3070 if not, i think RX6700 will be better.

Since you've mentioned after effects, you're stuck with the RTX 3070.
According to Puget Systems, even the RX 9070 XT is significantly slower than the RTX 3070 at After Effects.

3070 is ~16% more powerful as per tech power up, plus it’s cheaper. Go with that one. But please don’t throw around the word “future proof” when the hardware you’re looking to obtain are already victims of the future. Best you can do is grab the 3070 for now and then when you have enough money saved in the near future, grab yourself a 5600/5700/5800XT CPU to avoid an inevitable bottleneck.

But the vram is a very imp factor here. Should I go with rx6750xt for under 230$ because the performance is roughly the same of 3070 and 6750xt but with more vram

Sure if you can snag it for that much.

5800xt is the best cpu you can get reliably to future proof. The 5800x3d is being reprinted but at an obscene price.
The 3070 is still very good for gaming but to future proof.beyond a 3070 you need a 5800xt

ALSO THE PERFORMANCE OF RTX 3070 AND RX6750XT IS SBOUT THE SAME. SHOULD I BUY IT IF I CAN GET IT UNDER 230$
Dwarf-Eater@reddit
Best future proof if Nvidia. Better features for old cards and it's more powerful. I own a 6600xt and a 7800xt, I like amd's bang for your buck, but that 3070 is a bang so snatch it up!

Many modern AAA games like RE9 can use more than 8gb of vram at 1440p at 60fps. Image composition tools like AE can make good use of more Vram too.
