Do you moisturize your body after you shower? If not when and how often do you moisturize your body?

Yes. Shea Cocoa Butter everytime after a shower. If not that some Cocoa Vaseline. If not that then any type of lotion. For a bit it was fresh young coconut oil. Surprised so many in the comments don't do this.
I can't go around looking ashy š
wtfitsraycharles@reddit
As soon as I came in here (black, 30s) I was like well of course I moisturize...
Then saw dozens of comments saying they've never done it a day in their life...
Then I was like "ahhhh this is a two different America's moment"
fadedtimes@reddit
My skin in general does not need to be moisturized syntheticallyĀ
bannedbooksandcoffee@reddit
Yes every day after shower! I live in a desert
Weaselandhottie@reddit
Never lotioned my body (67M). Italian ethnicity, oily skin. I spend more time trying to keep it dry than lotioned. Still get a rare outbreak of a few pimples every so often and have some minor acne scarring from the teenage years.
I will now use some men's facial wrinkle reduction lotion on the face after a shower if it has been a long day in the sun working outdoors or wickedly dry in the house in winter.
I apply lotion/cream to wife's back solely out of love. LOL. Once it has seeped into her body, immediate run to the sink to wash it off and a compulsive OCD level of towel drying the ick off my hands.
The feel of lotion is the same as hearing the word "moist".
WhiskeyDeltaBravo1@reddit
My bodyās already moist when I get out of the shower. What are you talking about?
hawffield@reddit
I think itās smart to indicate my sex, age, and ethnicity (because all three can be a factor in how often you moisturize) so M29 black for me.
I usually moisturize after a shower. I often would lotion before going to work and before going to bed. I even got my fiancƩe lotioning more.
Scratocrates@reddit
I use "moisturizing soap" in the winter because I'll get a bit itchy when the humidity is low, but that's it.
bigfoot17@reddit
never, gross.
greco1492@reddit
I can't say I have ever purchased Moisturizer
One_Bicycle_1776@reddit
I probably should, but thatās a lot of effort. Iāll just do my face and hands most of the time
qu33nof5pad35@reddit
If I donāt moisturize, Iāll look like a reptile (scaly). I do it as often as I can. I have extremely dry skin so I will do it right out the shower, and also whenever I see flakes on my skin.
ClickClick_Boom@reddit
Do you mean like apply lotion all over my body?
I've only done it a few times, and I can't stand the feeling of being covered in lotion so I don't do it regularly.
FishingWorth3068@reddit
My mom does it with baby oil.
Dangerous-Lunch647@reddit
Me either. I donāt get the appeal.
anneofgraygardens@reddit
If I don't put lotion on after a shower, my skin will be extremely dry and tight and uncomfortable. that's the appeal - not being uncomfortable.Ā
nuggets_attack@reddit
Do you wash with a washcloth and what soap do you use?
Washcloths tend to over exfoliate the skin and different soaps can strip the skin barrier, either of which lead to the tight skin feeling and over dryness. A regular shower shouldn't do that (even in a very hard water environment) except in edge cases (e.g. a skin condition).
astralTacenda@reddit
thank god mine doesnt do that. bc the feeling of lotion makes me incredibly uncomfortable and idk if id be able to choose lotion ick over dry skin ick. i get dry hands in the winter and its not worth the lotion ick until my hands are so cracked theyre bleeding. only then is the discomfort from being dry outweight the discomfort of the lotion ick.
imalittlefrenchpress@reddit
I think it depends on the lotion, because I canāt stand that feeling either. I use bath & bodyworks lotion because I donāt get that heavy, greasy feeling from it.
slothdonki@reddit
This is why I am incredibly picky about lotion and sunscreen. I donāt like even touching it but I can still feel it shortly after itās applied then that is a no for me.
Same with hand soaps and hand sanitizer. Makes my skin crawl using one of those pumps at a grocery store or doctors office and itās the tacky kind.
PAXICHEN@reddit
Put the lotion in the basket.
JunkMale975@reddit
Same! I feel like Iām putting on a heavy coat and it makes me sweat. I never moisturize.
LimeSalty4092@reddit
Yeah never
abidee33@reddit
Same! I get eczema on the back of my hands, and I will rub lotion in with the back of my hands because it being on my palms feels awful. So I spot treat if anything.
Unique_Ad_3312@reddit
Me too! It feels so gross and icky. I use a moisturizing body wash and only apply lotion elsewhere if I feel really dry. I do moisturize my face morning and night, but thatās it.
spice_weasel@reddit
This wonāt give you useful information without having people say their gender. Men will almost never use moisturizer like that, but itās very common for women to do so.
theproudprodigy@reddit
All black people do it regardless of gender
Wonderful_Shower_793@reddit
Yeah. My response was āIām black, soā¦yes.ā š
Excellent-Silver-384@reddit
Exactly. Iām M24, black and was taught from a young age to put lotion on after the shower and would get in trouble if I didnāt. I would think most ppl w darker skin use lotion daily
Afromolukker_98@reddit
I think ethnicity too. Darker skin in dry places causes ashy skin. Some type of skin moisturizer is important.
Astronomer_Original@reddit
And age. I moisturize after showers in my battle against creaping skin. 60 something female
Mindfullysolo@reddit
Idk, pale female here living in a humid area and regardless of Ethnicity and location, all the women I know myself included moisturize daily.
WhatABeautifulMess@reddit
Iām late 30s pasty ginger in the northeast and I almost never moisturize my body. I do my face because I use a daily spf and a bit on my chest but thatās it. I occasionally do my legs after I shower but I hate how slimy it feels.
Which_Case_8536@reddit
Also location, thereās a big difference between southern Louisiana and the Mojave desert.
Fickle_Question_6417@reddit
Yea I think this is the big one. Iām darkskin and almost all my darkskin friends have eczema or dryer skin
NecessaryPopular1@reddit
Oh donāt forget, the lody doesnāt approve of touching your body, lol, self-care is limited and discouraged for some.
SandraMort@reddit
Oooh, sorry! I dint use moisturizer unless I have a specific reason (post sunburn or bitterly cold weather) and am almost 57 and female.
mtkaliz@reddit
I'm older, with fair skin. I am allergic to a lot of stuff like laundry detergent and dryer sheets. I also swim 2-3 times a week.
I moisturize like crazy else I'm prickly and itchy. I use a thick cold cream after every shower and a spray lotion about an hour before going into the pool. I drink water, although I know the could drink more to help.
Scratocrates@reddit
I'm sure the pool cleaners appreciate that. /s
SimilarShift5898@reddit
Yes. Iām black and if I donāt apply lotion after a shower. Ya girl gets ashy and dry. I find it very strange if someone doesnāt put lotion on
theproudprodigy@reddit
Same here I wonder how do people feel comfortable in their skin or go out without doing it. Like does their skin not get flaky or even a bit shy?
Scrappy_The_Crow@reddit
I already replied to your disbelief elsewhere, but many people truly don't need it. I (60, white, male) never moisturize my body and don't have dry or flaky skin.
UnknowableDuck@reddit
Same. My skin gets so uncomfortable and tight and itchy if I don't! I lotion frequently and every day after a shower and my face twice a day.Ā
NoHold7153@reddit
It might be a cultural thing, Iām white Iād say itās not as common for white people to moisturize their bodies after showering like how it is for black people
Agreeable-Sun368@reddit
It is a sociocultural and also socioracial, like a lot of hygiene habits and hygiene culture. Black people are more likely to be exfoliating in the shower with a washcloth or loofah, which leads to a greater need to moisturize after. But with moisturizing in particular a huge component is that white people generally do not get ashy and so never feel the need to moisturize to prevent ashyness.
Puzzleheaded_Math973@reddit
They do get ashy, but you can't see it as easily.Ā
jacktheBOSS@reddit
I'm a 31-year-old man. I have never "moisturized" my body. I've rubbed lotion on my hands before.
theproudprodigy@reddit
And your skin is not flaky at all?
Scrappy_The_Crow@reddit
Is it unfathomable that some people don't need it? I (white, male, 60) never moisturize my body and don't have dry or flaky skin.
asphid_jackal@reddit
I live 15 minutes from the ocean, no part of me has been dry in years. Using even a miniscule amount of lotion leaves me looking like a greased up seal

Thank god you posted. Same here, M75, was starting to think I'd been skipping something important all of these years.
Scrappy_The_Crow@reddit
No. I'm white and have oily skin, so I don't get "ashy" or itchy.
Imaginary_Ladder_917@reddit
In the winter, I do after showering or my skin will be dry and itchy. Once it gets warmer and humidity goes up, I stop.
PM_ME_UR__SECRETS@reddit
Only if I'm feeling dry after a particularly hot shower. But I try not to have them so hot to avoid that situation.
I do moisturize my face after every shower though. And my beard, with a small amount of beard oil. It makes my face feel so much nicer and severely cuts down on dander if not nearly eliminating it entirely.
xx-rapunzel-xx@reddit
i do! i must be really dry since my skin still feels dry after i put it on. looks dull as well :(

The demographics are very telling....
FreePossession9590@reddit
Yes, after showering
Aggressive_tako@reddit
IME, this really differs based on race and location. All of the African Americans I know use lotion regularly. Most white people don't use it in more humid climates. I (white) never really got why some people did full body lotion when I lived in Florida. Then I moved to Wisconsin in winter and wanted to peel my skin off it was so dry and itchy. Now I do full body lotion in winter, but just face in Spring through fall.
Firm-Tell-3172@reddit

i never do. im autistic and the sensation of lotion makes me want to peel my skin off
Solid_Variation_6803@reddit
Yes. Lotion on at least my arms, legs, and face after every shower. The rest of my body is fine with every couple days. I apply the lotion while my skin is still damp and use Cerave which absorbs quickly and doesn't leave me feeling greasy or sticky.
Cant-think-of-a-nam@reddit

balthisar@reddit

Belisama7@reddit
Never all over, it's not necessary. I do use lotion on my hands after washing them though. Since they get soap more often, or maybe it's that we have a different, thinner kind of skin on our hands, but they do feel dry after washing.
Pugilist12@reddit
Yes, I do. I use lubriderm on my whole body after every shower. Been doing it since I was a kid. I look at least 10 years younger than any of my friends. My skin is so healthy. Im convinced that moisturizing skin and not drinking (a lot of) alcohol keep you looking fresh.
MegansettLife@reddit
No, I use baby powder. Lotion only on my exposed skin.
But powder after a soak or a shower.
Conscious-Okra-7340@reddit
Iām 72, mostly white in an average humidity area of the USA. I seldom use body moisturizer because of the ick factor and the additional time it takes. Iāve had oily skin and scalp most of my life. I only started using face moisturizer about 5 years ago. I just hate the way it feels.
Comfortable-Bike9080@reddit
nah i don't, man i feel so weird after doing it
Nancy_Fucking_Fons@reddit
I wash my hands a lot at work, so I moisturise twice a day to keep the skin from drying out.
I do my face every day to keep me looking young, and my body every few days because that's all I feel it needs.
For context; I am white, ginger, and living in Greece.
Cheezewiz239@reddit
26m I put moisturizer on my face and lotion on my arms/legs
Kossyra@reddit
I live in Florida. Its very humid here most of the time, so often enough I can get away with just lotioning the parts of my body that feel dry like my elbows or hands. After shaving my legs, I will lotion those for the fresh baby dolphin feeling.
When I lived in North Dakota, I needed lotion every day. Not necessarily full body lotion, but I did do a full body lotion a couple of times a week. The cold and dry air was brutal on my poor Floridian frog skin :(
_nousernamesleft_@reddit
32 year old white woman (Italian and Irish descent). Ive never moisturized my whole body. Sometimes in the winter my face or hands will get a little dry so I'll use moisturizer on those areas a couple times (usually 3-5 times a year) but that's about it.
I do also have like a half inch area on one finger where I get eczema so I will use moisturizer in that specific spot too lol.
HotButteredPoptart@reddit

No, and I don't moisturize. My skin is dry like god intended.

Iām white. And I know we cannot see our own ashiness so much. But I see my cracked knuckles.
I always moisturize my face and neck, tho. Iāve used olive oil in a pinch, I do not care.

GreenBeanTM@reddit
No. Sometimes Iāll put lotion on my legs in the winter because the air gets really dry here in Vermont, but since I stopped routinely shaving years ago even that is rarely a requirement.
I pretty much just lotion as need, like āoh my knees are dry, letās throw some lotion on thoseā.
Impossible_Turn_7627@reddit
I live in an arid area. Lotion is life.
RVFullTime@reddit
72F here. No. The feeling or appearance of dry skin doesn't particularly bother me. I have a light complexion, so if my skin gets a little flaky, it isn't all that obvious.
Ok_Orchid1004@reddit

CaptainPunisher@reddit
No. I'm a guy, but I'm not saying that some guys don't. They do, but I just didn't have the time or desire.
Satsuki7104@reddit
I only use OāKeeffeās on dry cracked skin. I canāt use regular lotions anymore because they apparently mix with my natural smell and make my skin smell like stale laundry thatās been sitting in the back of a drawer for too long. It has something to do with the essential oils in it I think.
Emeah824@reddit
I literally never do this ever! My skin is always soft, what is the need for moisturizering?
GooseneckRoad@reddit
No way- I don't like lotion, don't care about aging or whatever, and do try to drink a lot of water so my skin isn't uncomfortably dry.
Apocalyptic0n3@reddit
I use lotion on my hands, forearms, elbows, nose, and occasionally my forehead. I do so several times a day, but always immediately following a shower.
I also have really bad psoriasis and that is one of the ways I manage it. To my knowledge, I use lotion more frequently than most Americans.
Fickle_Question_6417@reddit
Yes I but on body lotion/cream and oil after each shower. I have very soft skin š„š„
Lemosopher@reddit
I don't have any issue with dry skin. I avoid things with moisturizers in it as best I can because it feels nasty to me. It's especially a struggle in the United States as 99% of all cleansing products are loaded with moisturizers and I loathe it.
benz58@reddit
Try "Wet Skin." No icky feeling.
benz58@reddit
Only in winter here in Arizona.
GrowlingAtTheWorld@reddit
In the winter I will put lotion on my lower legs and feet but no need for a silence of the lambs lotioning.
Secret_Entry1840@reddit
I have very dry skin. I use an in shower moisturizer and I have a vat of coconut oil for after. Iāll use the oil primarily but sometimes Iāll use the in shower stuff. I lube up head to toe. I have foot lotion. Hand lotion. Face creams. I used to be very itchy and thought it was my eczema. Nope. Just dry skin. When I use oil I do it while wet. And dry off with a towel after and it takes off any excess oil.
QueenShewolf@reddit
Yes, especially in the winter. Winters here in The Empire State can be tough on skin.
I do my face everyday, though.
Electrical-Title-698@reddit
I apply an after shave lotion to my neck after I trim my beard and on my left calf where all my tattoos are. I usually leave everything else.

Footnotegirl1@reddit
I moisturize my calves, arms, face, and throat after I shower. The rest of my skin doesn't generally need it, and I moisturize my hands and face every time I wash them.
TangoCharliePDX@reddit
I'm moisturize My scalp and any other skin covered by hair (mustache, beard, eyebrows) with conditioner. I leave it in for a few minutes. I have found that moisturizing the skin goes a great deal toward preventing dandruff.
spookybatshoes@reddit
Only when I'm in the desert, like Albuquerque or something. I live in a very humid area.
Shoshawi@reddit
I go through phases because itās humid where I am. And it depends what Iāll be doing because I donāt want to get things dirty. But yes. I use oils instead of lotions because they are much more effective, so thatās why Iām careful about what Iāll be doing after. Not going to climb into bed covered in oil lol that would ruin the sheets eventually. In the winter, given it wonāt ruin anything, I try to moisturize daily. Also, I am light skinned. Mentioning because it affects skincare needs.
OrganizationSouth481@reddit
I do in the winter as my skin gets incredibly dry and irritated and starts to crack. But not really any other time.
Normal-Emotion9152@reddit
I just dry off. I hat puting lotion on. I did it as a kid for about a year and got sick of doing it.
Bluesnow2222@reddit
Those lotion commercials where they zoom in on skin looking like the desertā- thatās my skin. I used to live in a humid area most my life and had issues- but after living somewhere more dry itās so bad Iāll just start flaking- especially on my face.
My goal is everything twice per day- if Iām in a rush my face and feet at minimum are a necessity. I carry chapstick and lotion with me in my purse and keep my hands and arms moisturized during the day- especially after washing my hands. If I forget for even a day my skin dries out. If my hands dry out they start itching and my feet get calluses and longer term get cracked and cause severe pain. My face will hurt and my lips chap up really bad as well.
Part of me is envious of my husband who has oily skin. I know it can be annoying for certain things- but I just have no oil at all it seems like. Oily moisturizers feel like heaven to me.
No-Control9894@reddit
M22 yes, after every shower since I was maybe 12
blazedancer1997@reddit
I moisturize my face and a few other areas which are prone to drying out after a shower. I also sometimes wash my face before bed (if the mood strikes) and I'll moisturize after that too. I have never moisturized all over my entire body because I'm rather hairy so it would be a huge pain.
Male
HuskerGirlKC@reddit
Right after showering, I use body oil on my legs (especially if I've shaved), then use foot lotion on my feet, cuticle oil around my toenails, body lotion on my legs, torso, and arms. I only do this once per day. I moisturize my face and neck in the morning and again after washing my face for bed.
It doesn't take much time, and I've been aging pretty gracefully.
bananabuckette@reddit
Body cream and oil everyday ashiness is visible on dark skin but that also doesnāt mean every person who has dark skin moisturizes either

Yes, I lotion my entire body after every shower. I also use lotion on my hands after I wash them unless Im cooking
Kennesaw79@reddit
Yes. I use a body lotion or cream all over - including feet, then soft socks - after every shower. I put lotion with sunscreen on my face daily, and a night moisturizer on face and around eyes before bed. 47F and don't have any wrinkles.
Quirky_Commission_56@reddit
I always apply Cerave lotion after I dry off from a shower. Itās for face and body and I use a small amount on my face, and use a larger amount on the rest of my body. The only time I donāt is when I have to go outside, because Iām very pale and burn easily. So I slather all exposed skin with a minimum of SPF 70 or higher. Iāve got bottles of sunblock that are SPF 120 with moisturizer.
thirdeyefish@reddit

I mix my own custom body oil and put it all over me after my shower. I don't measure but I mix about 3 parts organic sweet almond oil with 1 part organic castor oil. Then I add a little black seed oil and a dropperful each of Frankincense and Myhrr. Feels great, adds nourishment and smells nice. Absorbs quickly.
gaoshan@reddit
I am naturally greasy.
Fantastic-Bit7657@reddit
I use body oil after my shower, but thatās usually the only time I moisturize my body. Otherwise I moisturize my face after I take my makeup off at night and usually again before I put makeup on.

Instead of using lotion regularly, I specifically buy a moisturizing soap for my shower. It gives me a similar "hydrated skin" benefit.
Brilliant_Shoulder89@reddit
This answer depends on the location. Iām in a very dry state with little humidity. I use shower oil after I shower and then lotion on my legs, hands and arms as needed throughout the day. My relatives live where itās humid and I donāt need anything while Iām there.
mostlygray@reddit
Never. My wife does it every time she showers. I don't find the need. I do moisturize my face sometimes but it's mostly because I like the smell of my lotion. It's normally after I shave. I don't really need to do it, but I like the smell of lavender.
XayahTheVastaya@reddit

Face after I wash it (at least every morning). Body after I wash it and before bed if there was a good amount of time between the two.
DEADFLY6@reddit
Ive never moisturized in my life.
Silkies4life@reddit
My body wash is a 3 in 1 with a moisturizer in it. I only use lotion like working hands or gold bond because the pumice stuff I use to get oils and grease off my hands cause my hands to feel like dog paws.
funktion666@reddit
I use an in-shower one often. But itās not enough for me - with my skin and in my superrrr dry climate.
I miss living near sea level, because I never had to worry about this. But since I moved to a place In a higher elevation - my skin gets super dry. My feet or horrid - in terms of dryness.
So I use some form of moisturizer once or twice a week. Otherwise Iām In a hurry to go to work or wherever.
I also hate the feeling of having lotion on my body when I go to bed. Iām open to recommendations for any moisturizing lotions that are not sticky or hang around. Also Iām a guy. All my friends who are girls are better at moisturizing than all my guy friends. I think thatās somewhat common, bun skincare routines are starting to become more popular with men I feel like. But maybe thatās only out here where itās super dry.
A couple of my corporate work bathrooms out here had giant things of moisturizing lotion in the bathroom just because itās so dry. And we had a lot of visitors from across the world. We have to remind visitors to drink a ton of water too because itās so dry.
Idk if I would be moisturizing so much back at sea level where it was humid. So keep in mind that in the US, it totally depends where you live, your skin type. And traditionally, women do moisturize more than men. But our skins are the same. Do what makes you the most comfortable!

I am a late 20s woman and I don't moisturize my body. I have oily skin and I do not live in a dry climate. I moisturize my face in the morning when I wake up and I put lotion on my hands before bed. I might put lotion on my elbows in the winter too, maybe.
Western-Finding-368@reddit
No. Never once in my life. Iām almost 40 and a woman.
I put lotion on my hands and feet, but nowhere else.
Rainman_1337@reddit
Never moisturized anything other than my hands and sometimes face.
Dapper_dreams87@reddit
No and never. I am 37, my skin is fine. What isn't fine is the gross feeling of lotion. I have tried a few different ones over the years ranging from a drug store recommendation to $50 a bottle stuff. It all feels the same and I will shower after having it on my skin for five minutes because I cannot stand it.
Slight-Pound@reddit
I apply lotion after every shower, and will reapply on my hands throughout the day (if I leave the house) whenever I feel them getting too dry. I donāt tend to need to apply more lotion outside of those times, personally, but I can always reach for more if I need to.
bbii511@reddit
Yesss, after every shower I moisturize, my skin feels dry and tight if I dont.
airynothing1@reddit
Please for the love of god donāt take redditorsā bathing habits as the norm.
NecessaryPopular1@reddit
Iād run away from them like running away from the plague! lol
Jumpy-Assumption4413@reddit
Hey, we shower every week!
Weird_Squirrel_8382@reddit
If I don't, it's because I'm sick as a dog and barely made it through the shower. Normal days, I absolutely put on lotion after a shower. And again in the morning when I get dressed. I'm brown skinned and "moisturizing cleanser" is insufficient to get me glowing.Ā
ThoughtMinimum2016@reddit
āMoisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beautyā š§āāļø
Freyjas_child@reddit
I moisturize the spots that tend to get dry or rough. And I do this right after I shower. So at least once a day. I might moisturize a few other spots like my elbows just before bed if they have been getting rough. I do moisturize my hands often during the day. Not every single time after I wash my hands but frequently.
greenleaves3@reddit
I've never moisturized my body in my life. I didn't even know it was a thing anybody did until I met my husband, who does moisturize.
zeldah86@reddit
After every shower and sometimes again during the day. I lotion my hands after every hand washing so probably at least 6 times a day.
Quix66@reddit
I do now! It helps with dry skin and itching.
ALoungerAtTheClubs@reddit
I don't like moisturizer. It makes my skin feel slimy.
BookLuvr7@reddit
Yes I do, bc I need hot showers to deal with CNS issues. I also live in a desert.
RsonW@reddit
I'm white.
Maronita2025@reddit
Nope; never use moisturizer.
idkman1768@reddit
Rarely, I need to be much better about it
Responsible_View_285@reddit
Yes. Daily after night time shower and again in the morning after washing up
Ok_Umpire2173@reddit
31M. I moisturize my face morning and night. I moisturize my body after sun exposure, especially tattoos. All usually done after a shower.
Fangsong_37@reddit
Itās not part of this manās ābeautyā regimen. Iāll use hand lotion if I feel my skin is too dry, but body lotion is not something Iāve touched.
vanishinghitchhiker@reddit
I did when I lived in Colorado, itās very dry there. Everywhere Iāve lived since is more humid so I usually donāt need it.
l3onkerz@reddit
Not usually. Iāll moisturize my face if I remember.
However I like hot showers so during the winter my back gets itchy and dry so I will use it.
SirFelsenAxt@reddit
Current humidity is 86%... You don't need moisturizer, the air is your moisturizer.
Commercial-Candy-926@reddit
Nope.Ā
AlrightyAlready@reddit
Pr a ctically never.
the-lovely-panda@reddit
Every night before bed and definitely after a shower.
GlitterPapillon@reddit
I always after I shower because my skin is so dry. I usually moisturize one a day as well. I put lotion on every single time I was my hands or they crack and bleed. Basically my skin is a desert. šµ
tyoung89@reddit
36 M, I don't moisturize. Occasionally, if I notice I have dry hands or something I will use some hand lotion, otherwise no. Unless I'm mistaken, most men here do not have a daily skin care routine beyond showering with soap/body wash.
BB-56_Washington@reddit
Never. I'll occasionally put lotion on my hands when they're dry and irritated.
animeistheog@reddit
Yes. Always. I canāt stand dry skin. Iāll do lotion or coconut oil.Ā
AtheneSchmidt@reddit
Every time. I live in an arid place (Colorado) and my skin begs for moisturizing more than lady Cassandra from Doctor Who.
There is lotion everywhere in on my house, and I use it pretty often throughout the day, too. I even have a little bottle for my purse because if I don't moisturize after washingy hands, my excema likes to show up there.
bokatan778@reddit
Yes, after every shower! I live in a dry area though.
2olley@reddit
Same.
dragonsteel33@reddit
I try to after I shower but often Iām running too late to be worried about putting on lotion. I moisturize my face pretty much every day in the morning and if I remember to wash it before bed
No-Profession422@reddit
Dove Men+Care body wash, that's all.
IWasGoatbeardFirst@reddit
Yes? Not everything, but areas where the skin gets dry.
purplishfluffyclouds@reddit
Nearly every time since moving to an extremely dry area. Never used to when I lived elsewhere where the humidity was high.
That said, the water is also hard here, and I'm looking to get a water softening shower head filter, which is supposed to help.
captainstormy@reddit
Bold of you to assume I've ever done it, I've gone 42 years so far without it. I'll use some chap stick in the winter time that is about it.
twineandtwig@reddit
My grandparents did (Silent Gen). My parents, aunts, and uncles do/did (Baby Boomers and Gen Jones). I do at times (Gen X).
Mr_Feces@reddit
Moisture is water. Water already happened in the shower.
49M but kind of a redneck so take it with a grain of salt. I absolutely do not represent all Americans.
Jumpy-Assumption4413@reddit
I have crazy eczema, so I have to. If I go two days without moisturizing, my skin on my knees gets ashy and brittle and about five shades darker than my normal skin tone.
Franklinricard@reddit
Only one part daily
PrimaryHighlight5617@reddit
Directly after I shower otherwise my skin flakes and itches. Vaseline while my skin is still dewy.Ā
Wizdom_108@reddit
23M and I try to remember. I have some coconut oil for it.
kartoffel_engr@reddit
Face after every shower due to my face wash and my body as needed.
A water softener is a wonderful thing. Especially in a dry climate.
winteriscoming9099@reddit
23M and no I donāt, just my face after I shower. I also use moisturizer after washing my face in the morning.
PlutoniumBoss@reddit
I have eczema. If I don't moisturize after showering I suffer. Mineral oil seems to work the best so far.
Light-512@reddit
Yes, entire body, after every shower. I have dry skin. I use a rich bar soap in the shower for delicate areas and a moisturizing body wash but still need a moisturizer post -shower, especially in the dry winter months.
coriandersucks666@reddit
Only my face, sometimes I do the rest of my body if Im feeling fancy or need a pick-me-up extra step for self care. My skin isnt very dry so i dont need it outside of the winter months.
thatsad_guy@reddit
never
Federal_Pickles@reddit
I moisturize with cocoa butter twice a day. Plus I keep lotion in my backpack and on my desk at work.
I moisturize my face twice a day, different ones in the morning and night.
AggressiveWin42@reddit
I consider the act of showering āmoisturizing my body.ā If you mean rubbing lotion all over, I never do that. Ew.
NoHold7153@reddit
Doesnāt the soap itās self moisturize your body?
witchy12@reddit
No... the opposite actually...
Building_a_life@reddit
Not after a shower. Not any other time either. M, 81.
Nate_Hornblower@reddit
Not even once
SD1737@reddit
Yes. I moisturize alot. Face and body after my evening shower and in the morning too. F59.
witchy12@reddit
Yes. I feel so dry and tight if I don't.
azorianmilk@reddit
I use an almond oil body scrub daily, and lotion
Senior_Performer_387@reddit
If my skin feels dry i moisturize. Usually after showers but also just whenever my skin feels dry. I usually end up adding extra to my knees
mangobibi@reddit
Yes, every time. I try to moisturize hands a couple times a day on top of that, especially after washing.
ChemistRemote7182@reddit
Seasonally and in dryer climates. Eastern summers don't even need face moisterizer, but that gets done for 3 seasons, and I extend it to the neck, shoulders and upper arms in winter. Its dry.
Donohoed@reddit
Yeah.
SandraMort@reddit
No. I don't.
DMmeNiceTitties@reddit
Yeah? That seems to be when my body needs to be moisturized most after washing my natural oils away with bar soap.
