The black anodized MK23 rails came in early. Grab yours now before they run out again.

If you are going to get a mount like this, this is the one to get.

I have one and agree. It’s the one on the HK forums that everyone recommends and is well built. I haven’t cleared Shadow Moses Island with it but it has held up great for general range use.

I want one but I also fear the design flexing and digging into the rail with the upper pointy bits. Has this been anybody's experience?

I haven't thought about it, but the trigger guard screw is pretty robust.

Damage to the rail should always be expected when running a light.

No, it shoudn't.
I had a GG&G USP rail that slipped off 45 frame and caused minor damage to the front. Rounded the square front, showed impact stretches.
As soon as I saw it, threw the GG&G back in the box and got a MrNein45. Liked it so much I got a MrNein9mm as soon as 45 arrived.
Running a light shouldn't cause damage. It's crappy adapters like GG&G that cause the damage.

I don't doubt your experience, but I believe OP may be talking about the MK23 rail in this post and not the USP rail. Despite being closely related, they are different accessory rail designs which was why I asked. I know for sure the GG&G USP mount blows, but their MK23 mount seems to be okay and is just a copy of an older design that uses full rail contact.

I was speaking about USP adapters in general. MK23 is similar in that is lacks recoil lugs and uses the TG to mount.
If a mount is well designed, it won't cause damage during normal use. And if the company wasn't bad, they wouldn't keep selling a bad design. GG&G to this day has no warning about their adapters causing frame damage. In fact, they instead put warning voiding warranty for certain lights. Including the SureFire X300 that motivated the adapter in the first place.
I'm sure the Lobos mount is fine.
