Convincing my Mom to let me get a SUR-RON LBX

The title speaks for itself. I am trying to convince my mom to let me get an lbx, but the main issue is that she thinks its too much like a motorcycle, and therefore wont let me get it. Going fast isn't a huge deal for me, I would most likely keep it in eco as most of my friends have slower ebikes (ridstars and stuff). My mom thinks that it is too similar to a motorcycle, mainly how it looks, and she is Hispanic so I cannot give her any BS response, I need to strategically prove to her how it ISNT a motorcycle, but idk how. In my area, kids ride it all the time on the sidewalks without being pulled over, so I would be doing the same too, and I would also just like to be on the sidewalk as I feel more safe. I would be getting it for christmas, and i would be 17 by then. I need to convince her by september tho as I would be doing the alibaba method, and that takes around 3 months. Any help would be appreciated

Do it step by step, ask your mom to get a motorcycle license first because you want to commute by moped, then ask your mom for a Surron.

She doesnt want me riding a motorcycle tho. THATS THE ISSUE. She thinks ill get hurt riding the surron, but i just somehow need to prove it isnt too close to a motorcycle, to the point where shell consider it. If i ask for a motorcycle lisence, she will faint.

Motorcycles go 90+ mph, they are heavy, loud and obnoxious. The lbx is light, quiet, and I would stay in eco mode. Thats my reasoning

A 50cc motorcycle can't go fast. Is it suddenly not a motorcycle because it doesn't go 90mph?
It's like saying an old Daihatsu Charade (or insert your favourite small and underpowered car) isn't a car because it doesn't go fast and isn't heavy compared to other cars.
Come up with a better reason it's not a motorcycle, as what you have now is just dumb.

Technically, a 50cc motorcycle is usually a moped, which in some states doesn't need a motorcycle license, somehow, I think that's where the confusion began...

Ok so lets shift this then. Lets say I stay in eco mode (she can track me through life360, i would agree that if she catches me ever above the speed she allows, she takes the bike away) how could i convince her that i could still be safe on it?

Yeah well luckily i was raised in a high class family so none of the nonsense you just said interests me. Ive never drank, and dont play to do anything sexual until marriage. No, if you actually put any thought into this proposal you wouldn't be subjecting your mom to massive legal & financial liability.
A California mom is facing 6 years in prison, maybe more, due to providing her so with a Surron that he used to hospitalized an 81-year-old vet.

This whole post is a bad look though man. You KNOW it's basically a motorcycle. You're going to have better luck being straight up about the bike being fast and showing her you can be trusted with something like a surron. Maybe show her you know your way around these things and that you know how to be responsible with one.
I watch this play out at the shop all the time and the kids who try to lie get macfoxes. Kids that show up with their parents and show they're serious, responsible, and knowledgeable leave with e-motos.

I actually made a whole canva going through all of her concerns inluding the looks. In that (i wrote a little script) i acknoledge that it looks like a motorcycle and sort of agreed, just to drop her guard a little bit. I agreed that it looks like one, but I said with the correct safety measures, signing a contract with her about what i would do as well as punishments, i think i should be able to get one. I made this post simply to see if I could get any better ideas than that

Brother you need to address that is has the power of a small motorcycle, and that you can get yourself into trouble with one really quickly. Show her the helmet you want to go with (should be an actual motocross helmet) and give her a plan showing you'll be able to learn how to handle the bike, not a plan for punishments.
You're not giving me confidence man. Surrons are not toys and you don't seem to grasp how fast and hard the ground can come at you. I might be wrong here and you could be nice as hell on two wheels, but you're not coming across that way.
Also surrons are way more work to maintain and keep in rideable condition. You might be trying to bite off more than you can chew here if you don't have someone nearby that'll do it for you.
Just be realistic about your abilities on the bike and with a wrench and make the right decision.

I wheeled an eride pro before at my friends house… im nice with ebikes, but i would sacrifice speed and doing stupid tricks just for my mom to be happy and content knowing i wont be getting hurt. I only wheeled once, but if i would have to give up speed and tricks for me to be able to get an lbx for myself, i would do it

To be completely honest I just prefer the way it looks a lot more over the stuff my friends have. But one other things is that I wont be getting a car any time soon (my brother is a freshman in college and doesnt even have a car), so once I go to college in 1 year and a half, Ill have something to go around in, and by then, ill be 18

I was a kid and I know as well as you know that the first thing you will do is unlock it.

No, i wouldnt unlock it. I told my mom that i would sign an agreement stating that everytime I ride, I would tell her what my max speed was via life360. Life360 tracks speed whenever you travel, so maybe other kids would unlock it becasue their parents dont care, but ive set up rules with my parents

It is a motorcycle, but also, 17 is a bit too old to ask for a moto? I know everyone's different but man, I was buying my mom groceries at that age.
This would be a great time to get a summer job, and a cheap dirt bike. One of my biggest regrets in life was not using my teenage summer years to learn to wrench, instead I have to learn slowly in my 20s.
Your school career center can help with both finding the summer job and potentially they may have summer classes on auto maintenance; it seems schools are finally getting back into doing that, when I was your age they were all about IB diploma and STEM.
