I bike too much 😅. My bike is a Trek Super Commuter+ 8s.

Bro, hitting 10k miles exactly a year apart? WOW ,that’s next-level dedication!!!! I’m still over here struggling to hit 10 miles a week, respect!!!!
dooit@reddit
That is awesome. I hope you live somewhere warm.
Blue-raccoon-boy@reddit (OP)
I live in San Diego California
trickyvinny@reddit
How's it holding up?
Blue-raccoon-boy@reddit (OP)
Its still going strong. I do fear the motor will go out again soon. Last motor lasted 12,934 miles. The odometer got reset when the motor was replaced 😔. The bike has 30,934 miles on it at the moment. I keep it looking as clean as I can. I went through 75 percent of a bottle of touch up paint. It also might need a new battery next year.
Cee-a-vash@reddit
How did you replace the motor? Are you in the US? I fear this with my Bosch motor
Blue-raccoon-boy@reddit (OP)
I'm in the U.S. I didn't replace it myself but a bike shop did and they did it under warranty.

Nice! well, not the motor. What went wrong with it? Bearings?
I have two cause covid. Second I oicked up on deep discount during covid. Batteries inter-swappable. Dual batteries bith cause I could. Pikced uo batteries on the cheap cause covid. I put about 5000 miles a year on them. About 23000 total. My SO does about 6000 a year on her yamaha based system.
No issues with motors yet. Or batteries. I think the dual bat system halves charge cycies.

Lowkey kind of cool seeing a bike actually get used like that instead of just sitting around.
IndianOcn@reddit
Great. The fact that you're keeping it clean and touching up paint at thirty thousand miles says everything about how you treat your gear. Most riders would have turned it into scrap metal by now.
Shiney_Metal_Ass@reddit
Holy shit you must commuting on it. How far? What bike?
Blue-raccoon-boy@reddit (OP)
Suprisingly I don't commute with it. I just use it for fun or to save gas going to the store. Its a Trek Super Commuter+ 8s
Shiney_Metal_Ass@reddit
Damn that's crazy
trickyvinny@reddit
Nice, mine (bafang 750w hub) also lasted about 13,000 miles. I should have greased the planetary gears after 10k imo.
arjunkc@reddit
Wow! That's a lot.Â
North-Hope2730@reddit
bike gang life for real tho, gotta love that grind
Specialist_Good_3146@reddit
That’s incredible
HMStruth@reddit
Hitting that exact 10k in exactly 365 days is the kind of coincidence that makes you believe in bike magic. The dedication to keep it clean and running after 30k miles is honestly more impressive than the number itself. Most people treat their bikes like disposable tools, but you're clearly in it for the long haul. Here's to the next 10k!
Tarvonae@reddit
Thats like circling the earth a quarter time nice
VariousAd5939@reddit
Why do you have the same phone?
Blue-raccoon-boy@reddit (OP)
I've had my Note 20 Ultra since August of 2024. It just works and I don't feel the need to waste money on an upgrade that does the same thing. I also like having a micro sd card slot.
VariousAd5939@reddit
I was just generally curious. Lol. I'm not knocking it.
ancienttree4567@reddit
It’s cool how those just riding days quietly add up until you hit a milestone like that. Bet you’ve seen every kind of road/weather/route change in that time too.
urlond@reddit
Jesus what is your commute to get 10k in 1 year?
wlexxx2@reddit
that is really a lot!
DarePatient2262@reddit
Damn, I was feeling proud of myself for riding just over 1000 miles last year. Now I feel like a scrub!
AntEaterApocalypse@reddit
Super commuter indeed.
