Why is my clutch sticky but only sometimes?

So I have a 2001 c5 corvette and when I start the car in the morning it's perfectly fine, clutch is responsive. But after I drive it for a while and then leave it idling or turn it off for a few minutes, then try driving it again, the clutch takes a lot longer to return to the original position.
I thought it would be because of the heat but that makes no sense because if I start driving it while the clutch is normal it stays that way until I turn it off then back on again.
Really need help, this is my first manual car so I'm not very mechanically inclined on the clutch. I heard it could be the master/slave cylinder but how can you tell which one it is if so? It has fluid, heard it could be that it has too much fluid but I'm not sure. Thanks a lot 🙏

It sounds like you have to find a good mechanic who specializes in older muscle cars to help you sort out this problem. It could be the linkage binding, or something inside the clutch. Either way, could be expensive to fix.

You knew that buying a 25 year old muscle car was a guarantee of future repair costs, right?

Yes I did, I don't really care about the repair costs all too much I just hate not knowing what's causing it.

Unfortunately the clutch is the hardest part to get to, so it’s hard to find out. It is an odd symptom.
