Been slowly building my Foxbody into what I call Project Nocturne. Goal is a streetable retro/modern turbo hatch.

Current setup:

• 1989 Mustang LX hatchback
• Turbo 5.0 setup
• MicroSquirt management
• Custom charge piping
• SVE radiator
• A lot of driveway engineering and problem solving

Right now I’m focusing on the next phase: cleaning up the engine bay, simplifying wiring, deleting clutter, electric power steering, mini starter, better routing, and giving it a cleaner OEM+ look.

The bay works, but it still has that classic “37-year-old project car that has seen some things” vibe. Mechanically decent, visually chaotic.

Long-term vision:

• Dark gunmetal / nocturne aesthetic
• Subtle teal accents
• Clean tucked bay without going unusable show car
• Digital dash
• Reliable street ripper that still feels raw

I know Foxbody guys usually go one of two directions: full drag car or stock-ish survivor. I’m trying to land somewhere in the middle with a modernized street machine.

Would love feedback from anyone who has cleaned up old EFI/turbo wiring or done tasteful engine bay refreshes without pulling the whole soul out of the car.
