Is the 5070 good for multi streaming?

I currently have a 3070, and i stream to TikTok using OBS. In game i reach 240fps, 1080p, with ease. until i start streaming, It jumps down to 200.
Im wanting to start streaming on twitch as well, while also recording my gameplay. While multi streaming/recording i want to still achieve 240fps.
Is the 5070 a good card to do so? I’ve seen fantastic things about the 5070ti, but with it costing almost double, im interested in the 5070

The RTX 5070 only has a single video encoder. Trying to stream to both TikTok and Twitch will force your CPU to do one of the video encodes, ruining your frame rate. You would need to step up to the 5070 Ti to get dual video encoders.

this has to be the dumbest thing I have seen

Would it be a good idea to then throw my 3070 in the second pcie slot and use my 5070 as well?

You could try. Does your motherboard have enough space between the two PCIe slots to allow both GPUs to get fresh air? Does your power supply have enough power and connectors to support both GPUs?

It seems to have enough space, my psu is 850W. If anything i could upgrade my psu and mb, and if not, ig i could sell the 3070 to help with the funds for a 5070ti

It's not a matter of space but more of if the lanes are shared.

Note that will still only get you 2 streams. If you also want to record you'll still be using the CPU for one of the streams.

You got the idea of dual encoders wrong. Dual encoders just mean that the chip has twice the amount of encoding power, but just one encoder can already do multiple encodings at the same time.
NVIDIA artificially limits the number of concurrent encodings to 8. To give you an example, with a 4070ti that has dual encoders, I can do two recordings, one at 1440p60, one at 4k60 + Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting at 1440p60 and all the lower stairs, so pretty much around 7-8 encodings at the same time. It's all about settings.

Honestly it would be cheaper to just buy a cheap mini pc and a capture card. Then you would have no performance loss at all during games. Just have the mini pc running the stream with the capture card recording the gameplay from your main pc.

I was thinking about this option as well. However i am still wanting an upgrade, so maybe ill upgrade to the 5070 instead of the ti and build a cheaper pc around the old 3070

Yes i can do this with my 3070 but i keep TikTok at 720p and twitch for better quality 1080p
lordhooha@reddit
Your wanting a cpu with power to do that like the threadripper
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
I thought the threadripper was more of a work station cpu vs gaming/streaming

You should switch to Nvenc encoder when streaming.
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
Im already using nvenc
AceLamina@reddit
I would just get the 5070ti
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
Well i would just get the 5090 but 😂 $$$$$

If you dont make money streaming than why does it? I mean, its not like TikTok crowd is enjoyable
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
Because i enjoy it. Im growing pretty well too! Went from avg 15 ppl to an average of 100-200 ppl in just 2 weeks. Almost at 13k followers as well and have many vids ranging from just 10k - 1.2M
BreadfruitNaive6261@reddit
Wow, thats something! Congrats. Mind sharing the url?
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
Its just “arfer” on tiktok :) i play apex lmao
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
I also do make money but it’s inconsistent. Best month i had i made like $180, which isn’t bad for sitting on my ass having fun gaming
BreadfruitNaive6261@reddit
Ye! Not bad at all
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
Well i would just get the 5090 but 😂
Urdnot_Flexx@reddit
What is your CPU?
HotInvestigator2459@reddit (OP)
Ryzen 7 5800XT

The 5070ti is gonna be your best bet then for your use case, since you wanna do multi streaming. The 5070 isn’t enough to maintain that level of FPS while doing all that.
