I'm planning to buy a 2016 650i F06 LCI with 270,000 km and an N63TU engine for €14,000. It has a complete BMW service history and is very well-equipped as an M Sport. Is this a really stupid idea?

I know that the first N63 engine was supposed to be a disaster. However, the N63TU was installed from the LCI onwards, starting 2015. Interestingly, you don't hear or see any negative reviews of this engine online.
