If you could age in reverse, being born old and dying as a baby, would you?

I’ve just watched the curious case of Benjamin Button.
Would you rather be born a baby and grow old or born old and slowly regress from 80+ to a young adult, teenager, child and then through into a baby?
I’m sticking as is, but it would be nice to be born with a triple locked state pension and a 5 bed detached in Surrey

So they would put my appendix back in?

Na definitely not, regressing from a person capable of thought to a barely sentient baby and knowing it’s happening is too flowers for Algernon for me

That happens to a lot of people anyway though…
It’s the only thing I’m afraid of for myself (I have all the usual worries for my kids). Whatever the state of the law at the time, if it looks like things are going that way for me I’ll take steps, before it’s too late, to ensure it doesn’t happen

Grant Naylor did the same idea in one of the Red Dwarf books. Only works well for some...

Assuming that this is just for me? Definitely not. Trying to make friendships last would be almost impossible, as you and them would change significantly in interests and ability very quickly. You could make friends through walking at 60, and then 10 years later you're fitter than ever, wanting to do more intense walks, where they are getting old and weaker, and want the opposite to you. Same with many interests. You'd also likely see many of your original friends funerals decades before your own, and repeat that process throughout your life
Either that, or you make friends with people with wildly different ages to yourself, despite the obvious differences in age, ability, and lifestyle

You talk about having wildly different aged friends as if it's a negative.

Who's supposed to give birth to you old? How will that physically work?
purple_crow34@reddit
You just spawn in at birth. Then as a baby you’re inserted back into a woman’s womb on your birthday & deteriorate into a fertilised egg

Fuck no. I hated primary school but one of my grandparents is like a hundred years old and seems to be enjoying life.
Nice-Goose-7599@reddit
No, it would make no sense to me and I'd die knowing no love just crying and confusion
SlickAstley_@reddit
You'd get older and knowing you'd eventually be going back in your mum's minge

The wacky backy getting an outing tonight 😂

No way, I find lifes just gotten better and better with each year I've aged, doing it the other way round would mean it gets worse and worse.

Well not to be morbid (and I agree with you), we start to decline at some point

I still remember that nailbiting scene in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button where he finds out there were gaps in his National Insurance contributions

I suggest you read Hyperion by Dan Simmons.
One of the tales is of a scholar whose daughter gets caught in an accident and starts to age backwards. It's one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever read (even if it is fiction)
The answer, without any hesitation is "hell no".

I’m gunna stick to the standard way. Knowing my luck I would be born with a fucked liver and Smokey lungs
