Car ceiling fabric. Is this a repair that anyone can DIY? 99 Honda Civic

I have 99 Honda Civic that I love. It’s been an amazingly reliable car for so many years. The manual transmission is still really fun to drive. I’m not knowledgeable about cars at all but I think I’ve kept up with basic maintenance pretty well. Before my Dad passed away in 2023 he surprised me with a new paint job. So now I feel like I need to keep this car for the rest of my life.
The interior is starting to look a little rough. In the last year I’ve noticed tears in the interior ceiling fabric. Would this be an expensive job at a body shop? Or is it something that people can fix themselves without making it worse?

If you have never done it, it can be rather difficult. Rather than a body shop, find a car and boat upholstery shop. I have had two saggy headliners recovered. One for $375 and another for $550. Both turned out perfectly.

Thank you. Good to know it might not be outrageously expensive!

Going to vary a lot by area, last one I had done was $190, but that was a carry in/out deal as I did the removal and install.
You can do it yourself, my usual first suggestion is watch a YouTube video and see if what’s happening looks like something you’d like to attempt. Personally do the cost to pay someone version the cost in materials, I didn’t find it worth trying, but you may get much higher quotes, or you might want a super ugly fabric the no professional is willing to install.
