747F Parallel Landing at ORD

Flying into 10R at ORD on a UA 737, and watched this Suparna 747F (reg B-2437) landing simultaneously on 10C.
Fun to see - especially a 747 - but then proceeded to get the full tour of ORD & a 25 min taxi.

That was awesome. π»

Sweet landings. Followed by 20 minutes of not so sweet taxiing to a gate lol

Didn't know that Hainan airlines (could be Hong Kong Airlines or any airline under HNA group) has a 747-400F

Beautiful! That was almost a three point landing by the 747, impressive! Only thing more cool than this would be with the three-abreast landings, with the third one on 09L or 09R!
Curious, did you touch down first or did the 747?! Sounds like you did first, just wanted to confirm. It looked like the 747 was initially slightly higher & slightly behind, but there was a burst there just prior to the green space & displaced thresholds came into view. Thanx for sharing OP!

It seems like the 747 touched at 10s to end while OP flight seemed by 4s to end.

Beautiful video spoiled by not being filmed landscape π€¦ββοΈ

It's hard. I like it on my computer obviously, but it's annoying on the phone.
imaguitarhero24@reddit
You can rotate your phone but you can't rotate your computer.
iksbob@reddit
I mean, you can rotate most computers. It's just a lot more work than rotating a phone.
misherfrodo@reddit
I kinda like it in this video. It accentuates the speed and looks like an airplane window.
Left-Associate3911@reddit
But only if you watch it thus π
When you watch it back on any other device, no bueno π
ligeramentedeprimido@reddit
I think landscape filming is going to die out post millennial generation for short form content moving forward to be honest
Left-Associate3911@reddit
When you playback on anything other than a phone landscape is so much nicer (IMHO). Maybe it should be renamed widescreen as opposed to landscape for the stream everything generation π€

Just had this happen a few hours ago but the other plane outpaced us on descent. Still cool to see irl.

those 750ft runway separations at ORD always look tighter than they are on camera, got some decent shots there once but portrait mode ruined half of them

Nice steady camera work OP!

Dear ORD
Please move the FedEx hangers.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Was this filmed on a CRJ or ERJ by any chance?

The text says United 737

Man I miss flying on the 747. Use to fly on them all the time traveling to asia as a kid. The last time I was on one, I flew from Nagoya to Detroit on Delta airlines in 2015.

Butttttaaaahhh. The fact these gorgeous behemoths can fly so gracefully is a marvel of human ingenuity.
