Reason 1 is that since the post the forecast has been revised to no longer include the DFW metroplex in the severe area, so we should be clear tonight from the worst of it. Reason 2 is that weather apps don't show much nuance, they show the chance of storms happening, but no detail about their severity, path, and risks associated, and don't generally update quickly with new forecast details
You can always find the latest nuanced info at https://www.weather.gov/fwd
It was the one for today earlier this morning, but since then the forecast was revised now to no longer include the DFW metroplex thankfully. Indeed, Tuesday is our next risk day
The unusual thing about the storm yesterday was how exceptionally slow it was. Usually in DFW, storms are fast moving and shoot through in about 30 mins. Last night's storm lasted about 3 hours. Hopefully any weather today is brief.
I've also never seen that much lightning that far out in far of a storm. The storm was still well north/northwest of Fort Worth and we were already getting lightning in downtown Dallas.

No no no no no! I'm at the airport 3 hours early for my trip and I do NOT want the weather to fuck with me today! It had its chance yesterday!
