What GPU upgrade for a 1070 be good?

Hi all,
Looking to upgrade my GPU from a 1070. I don't need anything overkill, I'm just looking to run most titles at 1080p.
Current specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K
RAM: 16GB
Motherboard: ASUS TUF H310-PLUS GAMING
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
Budget £100-£200
Any other call outs for some cheap but decent upgrades to the above please let me know :)

At £100-200 the used market is your best friend. An RX 6600 or RTX 3060 in that range is a solid jump from the 1070 and handles 1080p on high settings in most modern titles comfortably.
The i7-8700K is still capable at 1080p so no need to touch the CPU yet, it won't bottleneck either of those cards meaningfully.
One thing worth flagging: the H310 is a budget chipset that locks you to 8th/9th gen Intel with no upgrade path beyond that. Not urgent, but worth knowing if you ever want to go further down the line.
I'd browse https://best-gpu.com and cross reference with your local listings.

How important would this be if I didn't? (Just trying to save some pennies)

buy first gpu , if your cpu will bottleneck , than get 14600k plus mobo on ddr4

You should be able to get a 2080ti for 130 to 150 uk and because its 20 series you should be able to use dlss .... this should give you a great 1080p experience

If you are on at least BIOS 3201 or higher, you can consider the Intel ARC GPUs...

atleast a 6600 6700xt would be very good

Thank you. How do these compare to 5060?
puchi2701@reddit
the 5060 is at same price?

You can probably find a used rx 6600xt for 200 or less.

You don't have a lot of options for a significant upgrade with that budget, you're going to want to push more into the 300-ish range for something that's actually worth upgrading to, anything in the 100-200 range is going to be a sidegrade or a very small uplift in performance. In the 300-ish range I'd be looking at an RX 6700 XT or similar https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/odX4dmxSVcAKwfs6pcqvJL-1200-80.png.webp
