A Division of A-10’s Stopped by my FBO Today, A Dream Come True!

Did some instrument and solo flight training today and tower let me know that the division was 50 nm out. I called for a full stop terminate to get back to the FBO and get my camera out. These are my favorite planes of all time and I can’t believe I got to see four up close and in person!
The pilot’s were super nice and friendly (and hungry), all the way from Idaho!

Ummm its a flight of… not division…

"Division" is Navy terminology, correct.

In Navy flying parlance, a 2-ship is a "section" and a 4-ship is a "division". But thanks for the downvote, anyway.

Continuing this topic. In Naval aviation terms, 2-4 aircraft is a "flight," next is a "Squadron," which varies in number of aircraft, but could be 12-14. The largest is a "Wing or Group," which is usually multiple squadrons.

We used to have these stationed in western mass at either Westover or Barnes can't remember which but was always awesome seeing them fly around. Still see the c-5 flying around regularly outa Westover.

I’m always happy when the pilots are cool and open to meet and greats! Congrats!

I flew into Kingston, NC in my bug smasher as a newly minted PPL and they had 3 sea stallions waiting to pick up soldiers for training. They came over to look at my plane and got to talking about aviation it made my whole month!

There’s 30 years of penthouse centerfolds glued on the ladder door underneath the IDANG graphic.

At Boise airport right now. It's been kinda quiet here for the last few weeks. Be glad to see them home again.

God damn do I love the A-10. I believe this exact jet was in Cleveland for the airshow last year. I have a bunch of photos of it.
