Review my First Build (Germany): Programming Workstation & Gaming
Posted by fastiz13@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 5 comments
Hey everyone,
I’m planning my first PC build and would like a second pair of eyes on the parts list. I’m based in Germany and will be using the machine for both programming and gaming.
For programming, I work with IntelliJ and Docker. I want the performance to match my current work laptop, which is a MacBook Pro with the M4 Max chip and 36GB of RAM.
On the gaming side, I'll be playing mid-range titles like Warhammer Darktide, Raft, GTFO, and PEAK.
Here is the link to my build: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/J7nx6B (budget is below €1700)
A few notes and things I'm looking for feedback on:
- RAM: I’m planning to start with 32GB for now, as prices are a bit high, and I’ll likely increase to 64GB later on.
- Value for Money: Since I'm buying in Germany, let me know if any of these parts are overkill or if there are better value alternatives I should consider.
- Compatibility: As this is my first time building, I'd appreciate a check for any clearance or compatibility issues I might have missed.
Please let me know if you see anything missing or any potential red flags.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion! The GPU upgrade is self explanatory. But about the PSU upgrade, is it because the one I picked is not enough?
Reggitor360@reddit
PSU you chose is overpriced, not modular as well. And it lacks cables for anx future GPU that isnt using the cursed 12VHPVR

Much better GPU.

Great. Thanks for the suggestion. I would like though to keep the Intel Core Ultra 7, but I will checkout these cost saving alternatives.
