Overlanding trip ideas

Hi everyone. Me and a group are looking for overlanding trip ideas in the western US (Nevada, California, Oregon, Idaho, Utah). We have a bad habit of overcommitting on overlanding trips and don’t see everything we set out for. We’ve been through northern CA/Oregon quite a bit. We have a 8-9 day slot coming up in June where we are all free. We debated on going through northern Nevada to eastern Oregon. Drop your guys’s favorite routes and areas that we can accomplish in 8-9 days that isn’t too terribly far (we’re starting in Reno). We don’t have a bunch of experience but we are pretty capable out in the sticks. Another words, we aren’t afraid of a bad trail or being out in BFE. Taking a couple of 4Runners and a ranger more than likely. Let us know of any suggestions you might recommend! Just finished the rebuild on the 22re so need to get some dirt underneath her!

Did an 8 day loop out of Reno a few years back and the best choice we made was cutting our original route in half. Every dirt detour ate way more time than the map said, plus one dumb tire repair burned half a day. If your 22re is finally ready, I'd build around 2 anchor camps and let the side tracks happen.

White rim road and la salle pass near Moab Utah you need permits for white rim road but I think it's the best trail for views in North America. Bold claim I know

Nevada is amazing, so much great back country.
Northern Nevada: North and West from Reno
Central Nevada: West and South from Reno
This is just barely scratching the surface. Check out the Nevada Backcountry Discover Route, The Silver State 500, The Pony Express Trail, Silver State Trails, and Great Basin Heritage Trails for ideas.
