New shooter, how are my groups at 100 yards? 16 inch AR

16 inch ar, first timing teaching myself how to sight in a 8x LPVO, 100 yards bench shooting, 55gr pmc x-tac. Are these good for a first timer? I'm looking to improve every way I can.

Practice your trigger control. I suspect unless the sights are off you are pulling to the right on the trigger instead of even pressure. Also good job

It's ok. X-tac 55gr i snot a precision load, it's a short distance fighting/training load. What's the barrel? How are you stabilizing the rifle front and rear? I find it useful to use some kind of a turret or led sled that stabilizes the whole rifle, this way my input is minimized so I can properly measure the rifle's capabilities. And try new loads, too. Track the progress. This is mine for my BCM 16".

Pretty good. You’d give Micheal J Fox a run for his money.

Good work. Check out project Appleseed for a very affordable marksmanship clinic near you. Totally worth the very low cost of admission. Great instructors who are encouraging.

If you’re looking for ways to improve since no one has mentioned it yet get a high quality trigger group…assuming they is you’re just using a standard GI version that comes with most rifles

Not terrible. Especially as a new shooter. Not bad at all.
I'm sure some people aren't here are going to critique you to death but I worked as a professional farms instructor. That's not bad at all.
One thing you'll notice is that your groups are not centered. That could be you or it could be the way you have your weapon sighted in.

I could use some instructing on my farms

For new shooter, not the worst that has been done. Send photos of your build so I can give some recommendations. I use a 16 inch AR with an 8x LPVO using the same ammo and achieved one MOA groups (1” at 100yards). Send pick I can give tips even a video of you shooting helps too. With proper feed back and training you can improve a lot!

If you're trying to see what your gear is capable of doing instead of what you as a shooter can do, you have to take as much human error out of the equation as possible.
Things like decent front and rear shooting bags are a great help. If you still see your sights wobbling around as you make your shot, you still have room to improve the stability of your shooting position.
Once you are able to print groups without the human element involved, you know what your gun and ammo combination can do. Then you can start removing those supports and shooting from positions that test what you can do.

Good for you - out there showing Parkinson’s who’s boss

Good enough for govt work.

For cheap 55gr that group size is decent, you’ll probably get tighter groups with better & heavier ammo (77gr OTM for example). As others have said your POI looks off center so you may need to adjust your zero a bit more.
