"Overzealous prosecutors, who decide the law isn't meant for justice, but rather a yes/no system to deprive everyone possible their peace for the sake of rigid interpretation of texts to ensure their own good standing, will over-charge and pursue consequence against villains and victims alike because they are corrupt and/or autistic. We, as part of the system, are unwilling to correct this, as it is - at the end of the day - job security"
"Therefore, you - the pet, the child, the possession of the State, would do well to tuck away and hide in your little hole, only to come out to work, then go home and sleep"
Just saying

Stop. Just stop.
This is just your fantasy. A fantasy fudd-lore spread by people who do not know how courts work. If we lived our lives in fear of what some random dude's worst-case scenario is with the legal system we wouldn't do anything. Sure, a prosecutor could try this - a prosecutor could just bring charges against anyone, at any time, for any reason too, are we going to live like that is a reasonable possibility?
No, we are not.
Also, why post this 'warning' now? Is it just to make yourself feel better? And in multiple forums too!
Do yourself a favor and worry about yourself and just stop.

I agree with much of what you say about this being something that is, in all probability, is never going to happen. If you re-read my post, I actually addressed that very issue.
Sorry. I didn't think you'd take this so personally. I forget that some people take their virtual lives very seriously. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to real life.
NOW, I feel better.
Agammamon@reddit
>If you re-read my post, I actually addressed that very issue.
You did not 'address this issue'. Your whole post is just your fearful fantasy.
Dangerous-You3789@reddit (OP)
Okay, I stand corrected. I thought I had addressed it, but I didn't. Regardless, I don't think a disclaimer is needed, as I would assume that the likelihood of such an occurrence being a rarity would surely be understood by any reasonable person.
Look, there's no fearful fantasy going on here. It's food for thought, and there's nothing wrong with thinking about things. In fact, most people get in more trouble for NOT thinking than they do thinking. So, I for one, believe that thinking is an extremely important thing to do, and I encourage others to do the same.
So, since I didn't cover it in my post, let me cover it here, and let me be unequivocally clear. This scenario will most likely never happen. Most people will never encounter a life-threatening self-defense situation. And hopefully we never will.
But just to be realistic about it, life doesn't always go the way we plan. In fact, it's pretty much a guarantee that it won't. On the extreme end of that spectrum is Murphy's Law. Things not going as expected is the exact reason we have such things as fire extinguisher and insurance policies. We have them in hopes that we will never use them, but in the eventuality that we need them, they are there.
By your reasoning, if you carry concealed, you have the same fearful fantasy, because this is a situation that will likely never, ever happen. But in reality, you really don't have a fearful fantasy. It just appears that way because you are prepared, even though the likelihood of you will need your concealed weapon is remote.
Inherently, there is nothing wrong with this. Preparation is a good thing.
Whether it's signs on a wall, a concealed handgun on our person, or fire extinguisher, we're all talking about the same thing - preparation, it's just different aspects of it. But all aspects should be considered, and all with an appropriate level of reasoning.

Now you're backtracking and trying to pretend you wrote something you did not write.
If you truly believed this would be a rare occurance, what was the point of the post? 'To get people to think'? Think about what? Should I also think about protecting my house from a meteor strike?
>Inherently, there is nothing wrong with this. Preparation is a good thing.
Where does it stop? How unlikely of a scenario is unlikely enough to not need to be prepared for? Should I armor my car, get a group together, only leave the house when I have a whole army ready to back me up? I mean, Canada could invade right? That's *possible*.
Just admit to yourself that you were being ridiculous, take the L, and move on.

This just makes you look sadder. Take the L and move on mate.

Are you a lawyer?
Dangerous-You3789@reddit (OP)
No sir. I've never practiced law, but I've enforced quite a bit of it.
