What is your view if you are outside right now? What can you hear?

I’m outside in my garden and I can hear a blackbird and a wood pigeon cooing. Nice and quiet now that the grass cutting frenzy has ceased!
Electronic-Bus-5350@reddit
I can hear my neighbour hitting golf balls off of his fence by the sounds of it

Not hot, but if you want a cheap leg of lamb or some Ariel laundry detergent capsules at significantly less than RRP, then they can help for sure 🤣

Sat in my MIL garden, I used Google to work out what bird we could hear.
Turned out to be a blackbird.
View was blue sky and the garden mostly, estate living doesn't lend itself to great views generally!
ceehred@reddit
Once the tit with a car full of subwoofers moved on, it was the stunt plane ride overhead - banking and dive-bombing away. I find myself waiting for the "that dive sounds too long" panic moment.
I remember a time I could hear just a traffic whoosh, some kids playing, the wind in the trees, and the nearest bees doing their thing... soothing my tinnitus away :-D

I can hear owls. My neighbour has lots of rescue owls

I luve opposite a private hospital set in it's own grounds and heaving with muntjac deer. Can see 3 of them from my living room window. They make a hideous bloody racket. For hours.

I've moved next door to a fucked up household. One of them has decided to burn rubbish in the back yard. Their plywood windows are in danger. It looked okay when we signed up.

Music from next doors restaurant, conversation of my customers in the beer garden, the distant whoosh of the river.

Through my first floor flat window I can hear:
Various birds tweeting in the garden outside The gentle psithurism of the breeze in the trees and shrubs (and my kentia palm by the open window) Faint, indistinct road noise from the direction of town centre A siren, not sure if police or ambulance in the distance
I can see (looking out of lounge window):
Starlings, sparrows, a robin and a very round pigeon in the back garden (I put their daily mealworms out earlier) The lawn is speckled with lots of dandelions, the edge of the garden is full of bluebells, the neighbours butterfly bush is in full bloom with lilac flowers Two kids on the swings in the park behind the back garden A woman walking a dark brown large dog on a lead in the field/green space next to the play park
It’s a lovely, lazy, sunny Sunday afternoon, sat here with a cup of raspberry, peach and hibiscus iced tea that I brewed first thing, left to cool and put in the fridge for a while 😌 Might go for a walk around 7pm
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)

I was out with my girl Willow today in the local park and listening to all the birdsong, traffic noise and the occasional ice cream van.

Mummy blackbird is currently feeding her chonk of a baby, who is capable of feeding him/herself, but prefers to beg the parents for food. Wood pigeons are chilling in the trees, and mother squirrel is grabbing some snacks for herself, whilst her babies are in a tree chasing each other, she reaches the tree via the phone line wires. She clearly needs a break.
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)
Those baby blackbirds are very demanding! I often see the parents looking very stressed!
Absentmined42@reddit
I can see my garden. Currently the odd car going past, the happy bees on the apple tree blossom and so many birds! I usually get robins, wood pigeons, blackbirds, coal tits, blue tits, song thrushes, chiff chaffs, blackcaps and greenfinches.

View is fields and trees with a few houses in the distance with the sun slowly starting to drift down towards the horizon.
I can hear a small plane flying around in the distance, chickens clucking, pigeons cooing, birds tweeting, a slight breeze through the trees and the main thing... no people.
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)

This was my view first thing this morning when I could hear a cuckoo! At the stables we’ve got two pairs of swallows that I love to hear chatting.
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)

Have yet to hear my first cuckoo but was accompanied by lots of swooping swallows on a walk yesterday evening!
Just love this time of year.

The glorious chorus of birds. My garden backs onto a small plot of woodland, we moved from a terrace town house about a year and half ago. Blackbirds and woodpigeons leading the call. No joke, I've tried a few anti depressants, nothing comes close to sitting and listening to nature do its thing. I'll never go back.

Distant drone of traffic, blackbirds, pigeons. pheasants, crows, my next door neighbours chickens, various small birds and the odd plane. Looking out across a field, most importantly no people
0hCrumbs@reddit
Birds, it sounds like I’m in a aviary but not complaining, we have a wood and stream and it attracts so many
Guy next door mowing while the sun is out
And unfortunately radio 2 as the women who lives next door to our woodland (although a way off) has an obnoxious speaker thats on full pelt in her garden all day, we moved to the countryside for some peace and quiet after living in a busy town all our life , it could be worse, we have had worse, so shouldn’t complain 😅
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)
That’s a fab amount of birds and some quite rare ones on there.
0hCrumbs@reddit
We have been here 7 months now and I’m still always surprised by all the stuff we see, we have a woodpecker that visits daily, treecreepers, pheasants randomly stroll through and perch in the trees at night time, the bird song in the morning is crazy ❤️
CurmudgeonlyBargee@reddit
Moored at the Washlands (near Riverside Retail park), I can hear the Canada Geese honking, 1 pair have babies that hatched yesterday. There's a Coot that keeps kicking off whenever anything comes near, especially the geese. Ducks quacking. Moorhens making their racket. I can hear a Wren, & an Aquatic Warbler. There's also a pair of Grebes, a few sea gulls (black-backs &, black-headed gulls). 1 Cormorant, & 1 Swan that keeps hissing at me. I can also hear a dog barking, & finally the dulcet tones of what is otherwise known as the roar of the A45!

Not a nice view (small neglected garden), but I hear pigeons cooing, a couple are nesting in my bay leaf tree, and a few common blackbirds singing.
I also hear the wind, the trees moving, and a few wind chimes.
I'm actually a bit sad about the pigeon couple. I found one of their eggs cracked open in the garden, a bit far from the tree. I suspect corvids had something to do with it. I don't know if there are any other eggs and I don't want to scare them away by trying to look. Pigeons use that nest every year and I don't mind it, I'm always a bit sad when their eggs fail though.
I've got a couple of mice in the garage, they're not falling for my humane traps and I'm not sure how to deal with them. I hear them squeaking in the evening. I saw them chasing each other a few times.
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)
Neglected gardens can be great for nature!
I have loads of wood pigeons here; they are very tame and I can walk up to them without them flying off! Same with one particular male blackbird.
swoticus@reddit
I can see my garden and hear the annoying road and also Jarvis Cocker on the radio playing from the kitchen. I can also hear the ice cubes clinking in my empty glass, reminding me I need a top-up.

MuntyCatt@reddit
My view is a beer, field with sheep and the farmer came by on his quad, a copse of trees and more fields beyond that.
My sounds are my music on very very low, sheep, birds, the quad, the occasional car, tractor in the distance and the occasional aircraft. And an alarm that has been going on for FUCKING AGES!

Arghh!! They get right in your head don’t they!

Sat in a shitty back yard that needs a good jet washing and some planters etc doing.
I can hear the neighbours kids playing cricket on the street. One of them has shouted "I'm Imran Khan" a few times and seems quite enthusiastic.
I've just put a chicken on the barbecue and am about to have me headphones on and lose myself in Radio4's Lord Peter Wimsey plays.

GalacticDoc@reddit
Out in my hammock in the garden, i live in a rural setting. Cooing of collared dove and a wood pigeon. The call of Jack Daw that has nested in an unused chimney.
A mix of various birdsong from tits and finches coming and going.
The odd car phases by every few minutes.

Oh wow! A hammock in the garden. Absolute bliss though I would never get much done if I had one!

OverTheCandlestik@reddit
Melodic birds chirping, soft hum of distant traffic, playful children in their gardens, soft classic music from my living room, the gentle glug of several glasses of white wine. Bliss.

Back yard with my feet up. Just finished tidying up weeds, old pots and such as this is the first best weather we’ve had in the NW. I'm just off the high street of a seaside town. I'm sitting in our tiny yard with hubby, dog and two cats. I can hear a few people, some crows, seagulls, a bee, and my solar fountain spurting. I haven't cleaned it since last year so the filter is likely gunked up. In the distance I can hear a plane.

Next doors children screaming continually without let up for no reason. I have grown up kids and they should be playing outside, but hours and hours of screaming even when stood still? Odd.
Weary_Pickle52@reddit
I have a neighbour with younger children- they often scream for hours- I actually zone out to that. It’s the mum who just shouts ooooohhhhhh, yaaayyyyy and stop it- continuously and never actually talks to the children that drives me insane. What’s worse is she’s louder than her kids screaming at each other.
stm2657@reddit
This mum talks to her children, but it’s usually just swearing at them and shouting.
Weary_Pickle52@reddit
It’s such a shame- you can see why the children struggle to talk and just scream when no one is sharing words with them
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)
Ah it’s that high pitched ear piercing screaming that gets you isn’t. I can’t remember my kids doing that really but maybe they did and I’ve blocked it all out!
musicallymotivated93@reddit
I'm round my mum and dad's house for a BBQ, sat in the garden. Immediately in front of me is a tree and part of the fence, to my left is the fucking great big shed that's been there for christ knows how long (the bloke who owned the house before my parents had racing pigeons that lived in it), and to my right is most of the garden and the house.
Did prefer my view from my unexpected pit stop yesterday though. Was on a walk and bumped into someone I know who's a member of the local sailing club, they were having an open day so he asked if I wanted a quick drink. Couldn't turn that down.
Glittering_Vast938@reddit (OP)
That looks very nice!
musicallymotivated93@reddit
It was, to be fair with how the weather's been, anywhere on the stretch of the Thames near me would've been good (well except for the sewage plant, naturally). There's a pub I usually go to on the other side of the river too, the only thing with that place is there's a tree outside that blocks the sunlight in the evening. Although that's a small price to pay when they've got music on and reasonably priced food and drink.

View is a field next to a woodland not far from where I live. I can actually see a really long way. I've been picking Cleavers and now I'm just sitting before going home.
I can hear various birds, kids playing in back gardens, far off traffic hum, a little air traffic. A lawnmower occasionally, or a jetwasher.
Also occasionally is the sound of my youngest offspring swearing in at least two languages as they're stumbling about being attacked by trees and brambles and insects along the edge of the wood. The last large noise that came from them was the sound of them falling out of a tree. They're unhurt. Just chaotic. You'd think I'm taking about a young child. Nope. That kid is an adult.
Mostly the birds though.

Got a lovely view of the surrounding farmland and towns in the distance. On a really clear day there are mountains, but it's a bit hazy today.
