1080 or 1440 for this build

Hello everyone I live in France and have been playing an a shitty pc for to long. And im new to building PCs and I had a budget of 800 euro.
With that money I've currently scraped together the following build from 2nd hand and new parts. I really wanted to be on the AM5 platform to be able to easily upgrade a few years down.
MoBo:
Gigabyte B650M WIFI6E
CPU:
Ryzen 7600x
Cooler:
Thermal right assassin spirit
GPU:
GeForce RTX3080 Turbo 10GB
RAM:
Kingston Fury 16GB DDR5 5600MHz CL40
PSU:
corsair TX750M
SSD:
Kingston NV3 PCIe 4, 6000/4000
Case not bought yet
Now I'm at the point of deciding which resolution my monitor should have. My budget for the monitor is 200 Euro. Would this build be enough to push and gameable framerate in 1440p for a few years to come? I usually play single player games and some occasional shooters. I don't care to much about having the highest FPS or highest settings, I just want to have a nice and decent experience.
I like games like
Disco Elysium
Path of exile
Baldur's Gate 3
Helldivers 2
And some occasional AAA
Thanks for your help.

I use the RX 6800 which is mostly weaker and it runs everything at 1440p without any issues.

Yea I had the option to buy a rx6800xtx for roughly 280 euro, the same price as I got the 3080. But I choose the 3080 due to it being Nvidia. Good or bad choice?

The VRAM might pose problems here and there but I think you should be mostly good. The 3080 is the better GPU, considering features, performance, the whole package...

The 3080 can handle 1440p. I wouldn't expect 100 fps on recent titles tho. Maybe 60/70 fps. If you want 100+ fps, 1080p will be better.

Yep. I would say this is a 1440p Med/High build. My GPU is a little better and I play most games at 1440p High/Ultra.

The 3080 can handle some games in 4K but 1440p will be fine for modern AAA games.

Best showcase of the armror sets I've ever seen, thank you!
Although its rather low res.
We need the wiki (like star citizen tools) to display the armors nicely like that.

1440p monitor for sure. You can always set it to 1080p, you cant set 1440p on a 1080p.
Plus 27inch 1440p screens arent that expensive anymore, bought an ips 1440p with gsync for 150 new couple months back.

Would be fine at 1440p for sure, especially with a tiny bit of framegen. Even for multiplayer shooters latency isn't that bad at all. I play arc raiders on 2x FG & low latency

1440p

I have a 3080 16g but its a mobile chip. I do 1440. Just be careful what panel type you get. I get decent FPS but my old VA monitor ghosts soooo bad.....
I have 2 monitors 1 1080p thats really good and old 1440p that ghosts bad....
Even with the ghosting. once you play on 1440 its hard to go back...
