LEKTRA - High performance Document and Image Viewer, v0.7.0 released!
Posted by dheerajshenoy22@reddit | linux | View on Reddit | 14 comments
LEKTRA is a document and image viewer based on MuPDF and Qt6. I recently added support for Images because personally I think it's helpful to view images side by side with any documents you are reading.
It's extremely configurable (through TOML), customizable keybindings, by default has vim-like keys, tabs, splits, sessions, etc. See all the features in the homepage.
**Supports Linux, macOS and Windows**.

Feedbacks and suggestions appreciated!

So webp is the still image format for webm videos - basically a single frame of a video.
And now there's animated webp?
Isn't that just webm?

I'm not sure, this just detects if there's more than one frame in the file, then displays it as an animation

I think I should clarify something, this is NOT VIBECODED. I have been working on this for more than a year, and I have been using AI sparsely to optimize or to see how something is done because the documentation for MuPDF, DjVuLibre and other stuff are not too easy to understand (atleast for me). Please read the section in the README where I have explained how I have used AI. It's not like I don't understand what's happening and let AI do everything.

Thank you for being upfront about your AI usage in this project’s readme. Personally I still choose to not engage with this project because I find any use of AI unethical, but I truly appreciate you making this one of the first sections of the readme.
Still a cool project, and I wish you the best of luck!

I totally understand.
Thanks!

Looks pretty cool. I'll take a closer look later.
By the way, you might want to remove the Ubuntu and AppImage tabs on the installation page (https://dheerajshenoy.github.io/lektra/installation.html ), since the GitHub releases don’t currently offer .deb or AppImage downloads.

Thanks!
I'm gonna add them in a bit. Haven't added GitHub actions for these, because I don't want to, so I manually create these and add them.

This looks really cool! Does it detect embedded files etc? Lile okular for instance? In any case I will definitely be checking it out
