People from the Balkans living abroad (especially in the US), what reactions do you get when you tell others where you’re from?

They don't care lol and tell me how they visited the countries and liked them and then we move on lol (🇭🇲)

They get a glazed over look and you can tell they don’t know anything about it.
Some of the older people know Yugoslavia. They think we were all soviets.
