Is it a good time to start programming right now with the rise of AI?

I've been thinking about learning to program, but I'm not sure if now is the right moment. With AI tools getting better every day, I wonder if the field is changing too fast. Will there still be room for beginners? Or will AI replace entry-level coding jobs?
I'm not looking to become an expert overnight. Also, would learning to code help me understand and work with AI, or would it be better to focus on something else?
Any honest advice from experienced developers or other beginners would be really helpful. Thanks!

TBH AI is evolving pretty quick. If I say I have no fear of losing my job to AI I'd be lying. You hear about companies cutting 10 of thousand of jobs every other week. Some of it is because of a slowing economy caused by government leadership but also because of AI, hard to tell which one is the bigger factor.
If you are going to learn you have to commit to it hard. It is fun to create apps for anything you want

Software engineers will still be needed, although many companies imagine they need much less of them, which is debatable.

It's never late to learn, start now.
And remember, now easier to find the information than ever before.

if you're willing to keep learning as the tools evolve? There's never been a better time to start. The leverage you get from code + AI is insane. One developer with AI tools today does what a small team did five years ago.
The worst reason to start is fear of AI. The people who lose

Best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, second best time is today or something like that

It's always a good time to learn coding. Using AI to code is one thing, understanding the code AI makes and being able to work with it is another.
