$6k PC good for 3D/Gaming?

As the title suggests I'm building a PC primarily for 3d animation but I also want to do gaming on it. The cost is quite high so I wanted to check I was getting the right parts without any unecessary costs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D - $1045
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 96 GB - $1169
Video Card: Gigabyte WINDFORCE RTX 5080 - $1849
These are the main parts, below is the link to the full build:

Any feedback is greatly apreciated, Thanks!

You don't need the absolute best CPU and unless you're working in photorealistic renders you don't need 96gb of ram. You need to start somewhere reasonable then upgrade IF you encounter a bottleneck in your specific software and workflow. You don't need a render farm to get started on animations.

Most of my work is very cpu intensive, e.g geometry nodes, simulations, etc. So I figured a high end cpu would be a good idea. I previously had a laptop with 64gb ram, 5080, and an i9 and it couldn't run alot of my work. Do you recon the CPU would still be too much? if so what's a step down you would recomend?

Open task manager and see what's pinned at 100% if it's the CPU then that probably just means the laptop was overheating and slowing itself down.

the laptop is dead now because of it but it was the cpu due to geometry nodes, it was an i9 so it likely was overheating now that I think of it. What do you think a good CPU to match the build would be then? Thanks

Would a pny 5080 be a good alternative?

96gb is kinda over kill 64 would be enough
