[Times column] Jeremy Clarkson: “The robots explode, but at least China is trying” 🤖

Jeremy Clarkson watched footage from the robot running event that recently happened in China and thought the topic was worth covering in his column. One robot finished the 13-mile course in 50 minutes and 26 seconds! As always, the preview:
“Of course, there are now detractors, mostly in America, saying that it had to be helped to its feet by its massive support crew after it hit a barrier half way round. And that its route was pre-mapped. And that the whole event was pointless and that China gave the world the coronavirus and that President Xi smells.
“I don’t think like this. In fact, I’m rather impressed. In the same way that I’m rather impressed by the news that the Chinese have invented a robot guide dog and built robot soldiers. Just last week, two Chinese robot dogs came to my farm and spent the afternoon wandering through the crops to determine precisely what sort of fertiliser was needed in precisely which parts of the field.”
(Usual disclaimers apply.)
