VMware - No Hypervisor Found Error

Well, my two HP Proliant DL160 Gen9 servers turned off due to a prolonged power outage and now when I turn them back on I get an Invalid Configuration error on Bank 5/6. No Hypervisor Found. Have y’all run into this problem before?

Just tossing this in in case it hasn’t been checked yet - check your RAID controller in case the battery went bad and died during the outage. Idk if those specific servers have a battery warning for the RAID controller.

Well, everyone I try install with Intelligent Provisioning, it gets stuck in a boot loop and goes to this screen.

Where is the OS installed?
disks ? or maybe sd-card?
it4us@reddit (OP)
No SD cards or USB… it was all on hard disks (Raid 5).
dvr75@reddit
did you check in the raid controller ?
it4us@reddit (OP)
The status of the Raid is OK… all healthy there. I’m getting stumped on this for sure.
dvr75@reddit
what is the raid controller?
it4us@reddit (OP)
P440

i saw your drive is full , can you try moving stuff away from the disk?
it4us@reddit (OP)
No.

I’m about to go check out the array now… trying to navigate thru this slow BIOS is not fun!
it4us@reddit (OP)
Ok, well, reinstalling esxi is a no go as of now… it can’t see my hard drives, even tho I can in the BIOS.
it4us@reddit (OP)
This was the error now.

Maybe this is because I could only find a Dell ISO and not a real HP, so maybe it needs the controller drivers to see the hard disks.
it4us@reddit (OP)
But what’s weird is the BIOS can see all the disks and each one you click on has a healthy status. However, I see that it has no free hard drive space. Could that be the issue?

Replying to it4us...

Here’s the error
Tikan@reddit
Likely a disk error. Probably faster to rebuild than the troubleshoot.
it4us@reddit (OP)
I’m about to see… pray for me.

Have read this? https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/404825/no-hypervisor-found-on-esxi-host.html

Basically I’m down to the point to where I might have to reinstall esxi. Hopefully my current vm’s are still there.
Parity99@reddit
replace any failed hardware (such as boot media) and reinstall if req. Usually very quick to reinstall
it4us@reddit (OP)
I can’t find an HP version of 6.0 iso but I just found a Dell… I might try to load it with that and manually put in my own drivers that I still can get from HP’s site (weird they have that but not a 6.0 iso).
it4us@reddit (OP)
This is the error.
Exmond@reddit
Did your cmos battery go and lose your bios settings? Make sure virtualization is enabled in bios.
Odd error cause it can see the boot media yeah?
it4us@reddit (OP)
It’s possible that it could be a disk error but in the BIOS (nothing has changed) it sees all the hard drives just fine.
