I need advice

I'm torn between upgrading my cpu or just saving for a new one
Currently I'm running this:
Ryzen 5 5600g
Rx 6600 eagle
Asus prime b550m a-ac
2x8gb ram ddr4 3200mhz
If I upgraded my cpu, I'd try to look for the 5800x3d or the 5700x3d (which would be an odyssey, since I have not seen it anywhere in my country), but most likely I'd end up settling for the 5700X.
If I saved, I'd save about $2,250 dollars for an am5 (go big or go home), but it'd definitely take me like a year and a half to do so.

If this computer is doing what you need it to do and you're happy with the current framerates, I'd say for a new rig (but that's just me).
One thing you could keep an eye out for is the 5800X3D re-release this year. AMD is bringing back the chip sometime this year, so you might be able to pick one up for MSRP from AMD or an online seller once they're released, that would be a big upgrade for you.
That should last you easily 2 more years of gaming, with the RX 6600, at 1080p. And then you could save for a new rig.

Yeah I was also wondering about this. I've heard that if it's true, it's gonna happen in the next few months (don't trust me though, I'm not sure) so if I decide to upgrade, I'd wait until June/July to see how that goes

I'd honestly google when the release date is once a week and stay on top of it. Those chips used are selling for 2x their original price new, which was years ago.
So when they release, scalpers are going to buy them up fast to re-sell them and charge people more.
Anyway, that's why I'd just try and check once a week, or once every two weeks to see if the release date is posted yet, just to make sure you can get one at MSRP

Scalpers are a bane to earth.

Yep

I agree.

I'll be on the lookout then.
About the current performance, it does what I want it to do atm (low/mid requirement games), but I kind of want to get into more demanding games later down the road, so that's why I am wondering if maybe switching the cpu would help or if I actually need to get another rig.

If you can’t find 5700x3d 5800x3d, maybe you can switch to Intel lga1700 with 14600? Yea it’s a dead platform but as capable as 7000 9000 cpus, you can easily pair it with 5070ti, 9070xt I personally switched from 5700x3d to 14600k, 5700x3d were having troubles in newest games that required higher cpu clocks

You may wanna upgrade your GPU before upgrading the CPU. As the GPU will give you more of a performance bump. A new 5700X costs around ,180-210 USD and an Intel ARC B580 12GB costs around 310 USD.

I thought my cpu was bottlenecking my gpu. Is that not the case?
Born_Bad_1294@reddit
Nah mate. Currently your GPU is the bottleneck. If you want more performance, consider the 9060 XT 16GB or the Arc B580 12GB. If your current PC performs as you want it to, no need for a upgrade.
