How are we not talking about these wild thunderstorms right now!
CultoftheForsaken@reddit
Got hit with hail few minutes ago.
TittyFire@reddit
Sure did, quarter sized. It woke me up. I moved my car to the garage but it was too late.
CultoftheForsaken@reddit
Oh and also maybe heard a tornado siren near Ducanville.
nickgomez@reddit
They’re not tornado sirens anymore. WHL Probably going off for hail.
creativeusername_vt@reddit
Did you just "why Hilary lost" the tornado sirens not being called that anymore? Bravo
nickgomez@reddit
😂 it’s a good bit!
creativeusername_vt@reddit
Very! Write that down Blake, whl tornado sirens.......
iam317537@reddit
Heard them too but no hail for us so far.
mjbibliophile10@reddit
I love it!
bearpbeatstickfukr22@reddit
Just so you guys know, the sirens aren’t for tornado so don’t freak out for that. It’s alerting for hail
ilovebunny13@reddit
Hi! Where do you find out the difference? Ty
omgfloofy@reddit
Storm sirens typically mean 'get indoors and find out more information.' If you're already indoors, they're not meant for you.
They can fire the sirens for anything from tornadoes to major hailstorms - because both of those can be a threat to life if you're caught outside.
ilovebunny13@reddit
Thank you! I appreciate the additional info
zatchstar@reddit
Yall should check in to Max Velocity on YouTube. He is the most informative source when it comes to these storms!
IAmSixNine@reddit
For those new to the area. Outdoor warning sirens will go off if a storm approaching has one of the following.
1 wind over 55mph 2 hail 2in diameter or greater 3 radar indicated or confirmed tornado on the ground.
Or it's the first Wednesday of the month around noon. Testing.
Brilliant-Affect-277@reddit
Thanks for this thread! Has been hard to get information. Heard sirens in east dallas. Heavy rain and gray skies. Sounded like hail but couldn’t tell.
IAmSixNine@reddit
What? Every new station has an app with weather. Plenty of apps for phones. Weather Wise is my go-to. The info is there. You have to put a tiny bit of effort in to get it.

sealclubberfan@reddit
What kind of info? You should be watching a meteorologist during storms, theya actively explaining direction abd whats going on.
HolyForkingBrit@reddit
I’d like to talk about my neighbor, who is mowing wet grass right now at what feels like the ass crack of dawn.
pacman326@reddit
No hail in east Dallas which is a blessing.
MSHinerb@reddit
Wait for it
9bikes@reddit
Usually hail is on the leading edge of a storm.
MSHinerb@reddit
I said it because I was directly west of you and it had just stopped. And the storm was moving east.
Aintnolobos@reddit
Tornado sirens went off in East Dallas for ~ten minutes then stopped
nickgomez@reddit
Not just tornado sirens anymore
9bikes@reddit
They weren't ever just tornado sirens. They were originally part of our Civil Defense system.
nickgomez@reddit
Yes doomsday sirens!

Ohif0n1y@reddit
I had turned on the TV to Channel 5 about 9:45-ish. They were finishing a sentence about the shooting at the journalist meeting in DC with Trump being rushed out.
Then it immediately shifted to the weather. They were reporting one area had wind gusts of 89 mph. Tennis ball sized hail. Possible tornado, but no verification in that area.
Then at about 1am one of their reporters said there were some fatalities from the storm. So sad! Another reporter showed flooding.
cajunshrimp4@reddit
Did anyone see the green flash about 30 minutes ago?? That was wild
_null_null@reddit
Green flash is usually transformer exploding
jaredwatkins@reddit
I have a clear view of the fair ground area from my bed downtown and saw lightning strike what I thought was a transformer.
phantomseason@reddit
