The angle of the underfolding stock is different, enough to really notice a difference in comfort, imo. I find the yugo/hungarian/etc straight stock alot more comfortable vs the romanian, especially when shooting for extended periods.

This or an Arsenal SAM 7? I don’t have an AK, don’t want more than one. The price difference isn’t a big deal but $700 is nice to have. Have had AKs from both was happy with them

zastavas are not top tier AKs - they're generally fine but the 1.5mm trunnion doesn't really make it stronger, just heavier, and I've seen multiple catastrophic failures anyway.

I went in w the same mentality. I just need one AK, he said. If money is no issue, and you want one of the best imports available, go Arsenal. It's a beaut.
But Zastava is a great rifle for the price. QC has been great imo. Aftermarket components are ever growing. Flip a coin and you won't be wrong.

The Zastavas are Yugo pattern so there is less aftermarket, but unless you're the type to constantly buy modifications for your gun just for the sake of buying things then it's not really a problem imo. The accuracy and build quality of either are closenenougj that the $700 difference is only worth it if you really want something Bulgarian in particular

Yeah I don’t really care about the aftermarket, which isn’t great for milled arsenals either. I found a sam7r for 1499.
I’ll probably just wait till payday and get another 1911 or Glock
