How did 6 people get injured? Burnt or injury while evacuating?
HansWurstFinger@reddit
Evacuating via slides almost always causes at least some injuries. Might be broken bones and sprained joints, might just be friction burns from the slides (if you don't keep your arms in front of your body while sliding), or getting hurt while rushing to the exits with masses of panicked people around you. The plane didn't catch fire, just one engine blew during the takeoff roll, so these injuries are likely just due to the evacuation.

Flight No. LX147, an Airbus A330 (for anyone wondering)
qdp@reddit
Ah yes the Boeing Airbus A330 Max.
WetChickenLips@reddit
Didn't even have to click the article to know it wasn't a Boeing. Headline would've said so if it was.
Aquur@reddit
“Shortly after takeoff” “The crew rejected the takeoff”
Which one is it?
bonfraier@reddit
They rejected after airborne, that's why there are 6 injured.
OverPing80@reddit
There's no such thing as a rejected take off after airborne
bonfraier@reddit
That's the joke.jpeg
OverPing80@reddit
my bad
bonfraier@reddit
Not a very popular joke either
DudeIsAbiden@reddit
I guess it just didn't fly
roehnin@reddit
Rejecting after airborn is just a crash.
krodders@reddit
The aircraft began takeoff roll.
One engine "exploded and caught fire"
The crew rejected takeoff and brought the aircraft to a safe stop
The crew evaluated the situation and elected to evacuate the aircraft via the slides. For the pax unable to use slides, stairways were provided.
Six pax were injured during the evacuation. This is not unusual - leaving an aircraft via a blowup slide is risky

Dude what is up with the equipment issues in India recently?
isaacladboy@reddit
Testament to the skill of the Swiss air flight attendants to get all the assistance needing passengers off.
You goto Gandhi international and there’s queues of wheelchair users at every gate. This could have been horrendous.

Queues of jetway jesuses*
isaacladboy@reddit
I dunno there name, I can’t image they are all called jesus
PotatoFeeder@reddit
Google jetway jesus
newhunter18@reddit
I think the point is that in India Jesus is likely not the "bringer of miracles"

Based on the videos on X, appears to be MLG that caught on fire (firefighters aiming under the fuselage), likely from overheated breaks if it was a high speed RTO.
planespotterhvn@reddit
Coffee or lunch break? Why was it overheated? The political discussion topics or the melted cheese snacks?

Swiss Air went out of business in 2001
CardboardTick@reddit
Swiss Air what is now just Swiss got bought out by Lufthansa group. Anyways, I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. You’re not wrong.
bcb1200@reddit
False. Swissair went defunct. A new company was started, Swiss International Airlines. While it bought the assets of SwissAir it was not SwissAir.
samstown23@reddit
Sort of. Swissair was taken over by the already existing Crossair and then restructured to become Swiss International Airlines.
Swiss still has Crossair's IATA Code LX

How many carry on bags were left onboard the aircraft after the evacuation?
Bedford_19@reddit
Still stock that there is no regulation for this
aadsarraficionado@reddit (OP)
All, I hear.
sai-kiran@reddit
The link u posted has videos with the people with their carry on baggage, so I don’t think “ALL” is an accurate answer.

Unfortunate, as an Indian, I have seen some really appalling behaviour by many Indians on Planes, many of us are part of quite an indisciplined and itiotic bunch, the only thing I carry, when I travel if not carrying a Camera, and, a bottle of water, and, important documents (which are on me in a pocket) is a power bank for my Phone, which I would happily leave and run in such a situation.
Such people should by fined heavily, and, should be on a no fly list for a year, at least.

Was looking for that "as an Indian" sepoy. Found him.

RR Trent 772B engine if anyone’s wondering….looks like they handled it perfectly. Amazing how something that has the potential to be catastrophic has been refined and tuned from a people, process and technology standpoint to be so safe now
_AngryBadger_@reddit
Main thing is it's safely on the ground.
